Davenport's Task

Eric, still awake late at night, hears footsteps out in the hall. He pulls out his knife, and holds it at a ready position, after a few minutes of nothing happening, he settles down thinking "Probably just someone using the bathroom or something" Eric starts reading again, when he hears footsteps come back, then leave again. "Your minds playing tricks on you, go to sleep"

Still outside, Zane sees his target. "Heh, we WERE being followed. Good to know. Let's see where this goes."

Zane goes back inside, then enters Eric's room. "Eric, it's Zane. I know we didn't get off to a good start, but shit could go bad really soon. We're being followed. I just stepped out, that explains my weapons. There is a man, he appears to be alone. His "camp" is a few acres SouthWest from here, you can barely see his campfire, if you know where to look. This guy is experienced, I think he's from Davenport. Now, I know you were sent by Davenport, so if anything happens to any of us, I'll let you guess who I'm holding responsible." With that, Zane stands there, waiting for Eric's reply.

"Good to know, and if he kills you, I'll make sure the others blame me. If he gets near, you'll open fire and blow him to bits. Now goodnight," Eric turns away, and continues reading.

"So it's going to be like this? Fine." Zane storms out of the room, slamming the door. He draws his pistol, then goes back outside. Then, two shots are heard.

"Oh crap!" Eric runs out of his room, and towards the edge of the village.

OOC:I don't know what you're gonna do so, uh yea, waiting to see.

Rae sits up in bed as the sound of gunfire cuts through the air."WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT??!?!" She ran out of her room, grabbing her bag, with her hair all over the place from sleeping. She ran outside and smacked straight into Zane's hard body. Upon impact Rae fell backwards sprawling on the cold hard ground outside of NATURAL EARTH. "Ow."

*Hears gun shots while trying to sleep*

Dylan: "Can't say I didn't expect that."

Dylan grabbed his messenger bag and started to sprint towards outside. Along the way, he could see some of the residents passing out M14 rifles.

Dylan: "Nor that."

OOC: Also, if there is going to be a big change in setting, at the very least would someone mention that those who aren't on at the time also moved w/?

"I....saw him.....that...guy!" Zane shouts, breathless.

"We're being followed!"

"Okay, what now, the people have raised the alarm. Are you hurt?" Eric checks back at NE, seeing more men posted with guns, and signal fires going up.

Dylan: "I get the feeling that that you greeted him with gunfire."

"No, I'm fine! I just turned a corner, and BAM! There he was! I fired twice, and I know I hit him at least once."

*Takes out paper map and circles the area outside of their haven with a red market, titling it: DANGER*

Dylan: "Well Now we know"

*Turns to group*

Dylan: "Looks like the local sheriff is gonna debrief us."

Amber runs up just in time to catch Zane's explination for the shots and stood there. "Wait..... someone's following us?" Amber's eyebrow's creased, "why?" she asked unintetionally giggling slightly. "You alright Rae?" SHe asks as she sees her getting up off the ground. Amber goes to see if she needs help up. "Wow, well this isn't exilarating." laughs quietly.

*Dylan mutters under his breath*: "This one..."

Dylan: "Well, if someone is following us, should we stay here overnight or get moving?"

Amber looks at Dylan and tries not to smile. "How long til sunrise?"

"I vote we get outta' Dodge, if ya get my drift." Zane says, quite determined. He walks back inside, then soon re-emerges with 5 M14's. "One for each of us." Then, he hands out ammo. "It's only precautionary, you know. As I've already said, I've had my gun for 3 years, and I've only had to actually shoot someone just now."

Zane shifts around, fixing his equipment. "So...are we leaving, or what?"

Takes her gun and looks at it for a second, not sure what to do with it. Then slings it over her shoulder and bags the ammo she was given. "let's hope we don't have to use these." "I say we go."

Dylan: "If it's any compensation, it can double as a walking stick...Let's head east this time."

Giggles. "A walking stick, huh? Hmm.." weighs the gun in my hands "I'm sure there are lots of things you could use this for." she says smiling. "East sounds good to me."

"I've never handled a firearm, muffin, I doubt I could turn the safety off. It would probably be safer if Zane used it..." Eric stares at the gun in distaste. "I think I'll stick to not killing things,"
