I think it might be because a lot of people on LS enjoy nat-pols and stuff. Although, this is like... fifty times more detailed and more in-depth than DominationWar, the foundations still are there.

Hey everyone - I forgot something rather important for identification purposes between our countries. I forgot to add in "Race" to the registration area. Please go back and just add it in since some people have chosen to be of different races - IE: Humans, elves, dwarves, etc.

It should be located beneath "Nickname" at the top of the registration. Thanks guys.

Regarding national histories - I've read through everyone's nation threads, and aside form DB's nation, everyone pretty appears to have been rather isolationist to-date with their nations. With exception to where otherwise agreed upon between parties externally, is it fairly safe to assume that no one has had any real serious contact with one another until period zero beginning of RP time? Happy to go either way, but thought I'd ask (to clarify several questions I have regarding my own nation's place in the world so far as ensuring adequate realpolitik in my posts).

Just as so you guys know, I'm actually awaiting a reply to my above question before I post anything else in this RP at all..

The Erynnen haven't been isolationist at all, but most of their contact has been with minor captains who are willing to man trade ships for cash. Thus, if your leader was to decide that he wanted a trade agreement with Erynnen--for example, something like "Our merchants will hire only your ships, provided that you decrease the cost of using them"--he could just send a letter out with one of the Erynnen mercenary trade ships.

I'm sorry I haven't really seen this - yes, most nations have in fact been rather isolationist. To begin, I'm having it so that nations only "know of" other countries on the globe - which obviously can and should spur discovery early on in the game such as with Kyokai voyaging to the west to find Capua. There is an exception of course, and that is with nations who border each other like Capua and Solaris - they would definitely know each other.

And the Erynnen, who trade with... umm, I believe everyone, unless a country has an objection to that. They're a sea power, so they've voyaged to most countries and established trade rights.
