A Journy Northward (ATTN: Desertback)

Post by Armos on Fri Jul 22, 2011 6:38 pm

A small ship, The Ruhm, carrying members of the Ironhull Empire was traveling north. They knew of Capua and Alba being directly north of Ironhull and the Holy Empire to the west. The east had yet to be explored, and rumors were spoken of another large country to the north of Capua. 5 other ships were sent out in search for civilization, and it was almost a month since anything had been sighted.

Living off of fish and fresh water found on the small islands that dotted the sea, the crew was growing weary. Rumors had spread that they had sailed off the edge of the world, and this was their punishment for curiosity. The Captain, following strict orders from Commander Sol, led the crew farther north. They had passed the Ardennes Channel two weeks ago, and the Capuan city Eclipse about three weeks ago. They had to have been lost.

Night quickly befell them, and the weather took a turn for the worse. Large clouds began barreling in from the east, and the waves began to turn choppy. A large gust of wind blew past the deck and knocked a few of the sailors down. lightning was seen of the starboard deck, and the thunder boomed like the voice of an enraged god. Then began the rain.

It seemed as if the heavens had opened up on the small vessel. A torrent of water rinsed off the deck and waves began to grow in size. Lightning flared above the crew's heads. Out of the blue, a massive wave rammed the side of the deck. The crew was in shambles.

On the Helm was Captain Christoph Frantz, One of Ironhull's first and finest graduates of the Port Freistad Naval Academy. He stood there, ever gazing forward as if unaware of the sea's wrath around him. The crew witnessed him and were fueled by a new hope. They worked hard and soon the ship was out of the storm. The crew cheered. But all was not well.

Frantz looked up and witnessed an event that was both magnificent and terrifying. The storm had ceased, but all around them it still went on. The sky was clear above them, while the clouds were being thrown around in anger. Frantz called down to his men.

"Sailors, i have known you for such small time, but i see you all as family and friends. Do not stop your hard work, for we are out off on mess, but about to be thrown into another. I fear we might not make it, for we have stumbled into a true terror. But let us show the sea that we are men of Ironhull! The Sea might have an armory most fierce, but we have the will of our ancestors to carry us on! Let us sail forth. Onward to our Goal, Onward for the glory of Ironhull!"

The small crew let out a cheer and assumed their stations. It was silent. They sailed smoothly from the eye of the storm, knowing that they would soon have to face the wrath of the ocean once more. It was smooth, but then it hit like an explosion.

The waves had grown massive in size, and the rain and the wind was chipping away at the grew. Captain Frantz stood at the helm struggling to hold steady. A large wave hit and Erdmann, a popular sailor, was thrown overboard. No one cried "Man Overboard" no one looked back. A flash of lighting flew by and touched down on the sail, it lit up like a wick.

The rain did little to dampen the flame as it slowly spread down the mast. The Ruhm crested a large wave and crashed down again into the water. A sailor called out "CAPTAIN! LARGE ROCKS AHEAD!" It was to late. The Ruhm crested another large wave and came crashing down on the rocks. The boat shattered against the force of the blow. Everything went dark for Captain Frantz.

Frantz woke up again holding on to a plank of wood. The night had changed to day and the storm had passed. He was adrift at sea with nothing but a plank of wood. He looked down and noticed Ruhm was painted on the side. He smiled and then fell back asleep.

He awoke again, this time on a beach. his officers uniform was torn and the plank, the last remnants of The Ruhm was there too. He had somehow lost a boot in the storm....or was it while he was drifting. The facts were blurry, but he was thirsty. Thirsty, and alone in a strange world.

OOC: Wouldn't mind getting a date on this. It might be fine, but I've got a bit of an itch that it may potentially conflict with other events occurring at the like time, such as the riots in Solaris, other events at large and etcetera.

A squad of five riding horses was patrolling Sector Alpha-25, a beach that was ten miles away from Luxuria Urbs. The five men where Department of Border Security Agents who's objective is to find criminals who have evaded the police. Carrying their Katzbalger swords and having the Appenzeller Sennenhund dogs sniffing around for hidden spots in the areas.

The man who is in charge of this squad was Sargent Grigori a man who was famous for finding criminals. He spent his early days as a bounty hunter and when his reputation grew higher the Department of Border Security recruited him to their ranks. He was consider one of the best Border Agents in New Solaris with an arrest record of 538 and kill record of 213.

"Sargent individual spotted ahead!" said one his subordinates. Sargent Grigori gave a sign and all of his subordinates rush to the man. Grigori saw his subordinates surrounded the strange man with weapons drawn and dogs ready to attack. Grigori gets off his horse carrying two items. In one hand he has a book that contained wanted men and the other hand a pair of handcuffs. Grigori stands 7ft away from the man and says "Alright drifter do you have your New Solaris Identification Card with you?"

Frantz didnt know what to do. He was stuck in a strange world with no allies and surrounded by soldiers. He tried to speak, but few words came out.
"I.....from....Iron....hull." He reached into his coat pocket and miraculously the papers were still there, although drenched. He grabbed them and the paper crumbled. Now he had no identification. He raised his hands up as if to surrender, but always kept a hold on the plank of his ruined ship.

Sargent Grigori finnish scanning through his little book of wanted men. The man who was standing only 7ft away was not a fugitive. He closes his book and heard the man spoke his words. "What is Ironhull?" said Grigori. He looks around and spots out some details of why the man is the middle of nowhere. There was a couple planks of wood scatter all over the beach, man was covered in sand and only whore tattered clothes, and the health of this mysterious man was somewhat dehydrated.

"Is Ironhull the name of your ship?" he said. Grigori raises his hands down making a order for all of his subordinates to stand down. "Private get the stretcher ready. We will be taking this man back to HQ for medical attention and take down a report" said Sargent Grigori.

The man laid rest on the stretcher in relief. "Sargent the man said that Ironhull is a country? Have you heard of it sir?" said one of the privates. Sargent Grigori looked back to the private and said "This man is probably suffering some mental disorientation". The privates raised the stretcher and tied it to two horses. All men got on the hoarse and started to ride off to Luxuria Urbs.

After an hour of riding the squad reaches to the border check point of Luxuria Urbs. An officer walks up to Sargent Grigori and says "Sargent Grigori whose the man on the stretcher?". Girgori looks back and says "A sailor whose ship crashed around Sector Alpha-25. The man if facing dehydration and some sort of mental problems so we will be taking him the the state hospital for evaluation.". The officer gives the sign to open the checkpoint gate and says "Did this man say what ship he was on?". Grigori says "Yeah he said Ironhull but he think it is a country. I want you to go to the Department of Trade & Work and look up the ship Ironhull. In that document it should list all of the serial numbers of citizenship. Take those serial numbers to Department of Citizenship and translate it to names and bring me the list to the hospital". The squad rides off to the hospital.

Frantz woke up in a strange place. He thought it all was a dream and he was back on his ship, but he wasnt. The place seemed like a hospital, so he must be safe. He ran through what happened in his head. The Ruhm was sailing fine, then the storm hit. He hit rocks and the ship shattered. He saw some of his crew go under, he couldnt save all of them, and keep himself alive. He saw a piece of wood and grabbed on to it. He must have passed out. He remembered waking up again, on a beach....and people finding him. They didnt understand him. Frantz shook his head, trying to focus on where he was now.

He looked around the room, searching for any sign of where he was. He saw a window, and tried to get up, but there was pain in his chest and leg. He about gave up when he heard the door to his room open.

Doctor Riveria was heading towards room 203 seeing two agents from The Department of Border Security. "How you doing gentlemen any info you can pass to me on who the patient is?". Both of the border agents looked to each other and one said "Sorry doctor we have one of our guys looking into who the person is. We only know that he came from a ship called the Ironhull. Our Sargent is the lead investigator so if he finds out he will contact you". The doctor nods his head and walks into the room 203.

The patient was finally awake but looking around nervously. He walks to the patients bed and grabs his medical chart and starts to read it. He has moderate dehydration, couple broken ribs, a broken leg, and possible mental dissolution.

He sits by in a chair and looks to the patient with a smile on his face. "How you feeling sir your in Luxuria Urbs Hospital. You apparently have a couple of broken ribs and a broken leg. Do you remember what happen to you? Also do you remember your citizenship ID number?"

"I am no Citizen of this land." His accent was heavy. "I am a citizen of the Ironhull Empire. I was sent to search for unknown civilizations by my commander, Admiral Sol and Grand Leader Grushna." He could tell the doctor did not believe him.

" I am Captain Frantz of the IIS Ruhm. We were in a storm and our ship crashed against some rocks and shattered. I was the only survivor."

The doctor was scribbling something in his notepad.

"Please!" he grabbed the doctor and winced in pain from the sharp movement.
"You must believe me! I am here for diplomatic purposes. i MUST see your leader!"

Doctor Riveria stood up and walked outside of the patients room and walks towards to the nurses station. "Patient of room 203 give him a dose of painkillers and relaxers." he said to one of the nurses.

As soon he walks away one of the guards stops him. "Doctor I am Sargent Grigori I am the lead investigator of patient of room 203". said Sargent Grigori. Doctor Riveria shakes the mans hand and says "Oh yes your subordinates told me about you. Tell me did the name of his ship was found in the Department of Trade & Work?". Sargent pulls out a sheet and listed every ship that left port and says "We did not find his ship listed. Tell me did you find out anymore information. Doctor pulls out his pad and says "Well his name is Frantz and from the ship named Ruhm". Sargent Grigori looks through the sheet and found no ship named the Ruhm. "No ship named Ruhm. Doctor can you debrief me on his condition?" said Grigori. Doctor Riveria gives Grigori the medical chart of Frantz and nods his head and leaves.

Sargent Grigori looks through the medical chart and sees his condition. The patient might have possible brain injury and is schedule for testing as for tomorrow.

Sargent Grigori walks inside and sits down by the patient. The nurse started to walk out of the room. He looks over to the patient and says "I have looked over the names of your ship and have not find it under the Department of Trade & Work. Right now we have one of our ships scanning the area you washed up so we can properly identify the ship. So tell me your past activities in the last 24 hours".

"i....i have no idea of the time frame but i can tell you what happened. He adjusted himself and winced a little.

" I was navigating my ship, The Ruhm, and we entered a storm. My crew and i navigated through it quite well and must have entered the eye of the storm. As we exited the eye, we were overwhelmed by the power of the ocean and my ship was shattered against some rocks. My crew died and i, by some cruel twist of fate survived. I awoke to the sound of waves and found myself on the beach you rescued me from. Now i am here. i was sent here by my leader, Durn Grushna III. It was my duty to find new civilizations, and form diplomatic relationships with them."

Re: A Journy Northward (ATTN: Desertback)

Post by Desertback on Sun Jul 24, 2011 5:30 pm

Every thing was written down in detail by Grigori. Mr. Frantz described the Hells Reef which is well known. Only problem was the end where he stated about some diplomatic mission. "Mr. Frantz are you sure your story is correct. Could it just be your imagination? Its because your a human and the only human race is here in our country. Its unlikely that your story is right because if you look at the world map and its race you wont find other human civilizations. Here let me show you." said Sargent Grigori. He pulls out the world map and points out each known country and says "This country is called Alba and they are not human, down south of New Solaris called Capau they are not human, and up north called Holy Empire are not human just human eaters. This is the world map and if your not from Alba or Capua your from here in New Solaris."

He pats the shoulder of Mr. Frantz and says "Get better alright. Tomorrow you will get tested for brain injury and I will be finding out about the ship incident ok".

He walks away from the room and sees another Sargent sitting in the waiting room. He walks over and introduces himself with a formal salute, "Im Sargent Blitz we just scanned the ocean and found the ship." Grigori says "What exactly did you find?". Sargent Blitz grabs a dossier of the ship discovery and reads the notes.

Incident Dossier :

Sargent Blitz of Department of Border Security

Commanding officer of NS-DBS-Hunter

After patrolling Section Alpha 25 through Alpha 37 we discover wreckage around Hells Reef. The ship was completely in pieces non intact. The amount of wreckage indicated a large ship that would not be authorized to civilians of New Solaris. We also discover a piece of wood that showed the ships name which was IIS Ruhm. Department of Trade & Work has no listing of the ship.

Several bodies where washed up on the beaches. Total count is 7 and after searching through the bodies non of which had New Solaris Identification Cards. The bodies where transported to the morgue for more evaluations.

This concludes the report

Signed

Sargent Blitz of Department of Border Security

"Thank you for the report I will be talking to the survivor once more." Both Sargents salutes each other and walk different paths.

Sargent Grigori walks into the room and throws the report at Mr. Frantz and sits down at the chair. "This is the report of your ship. After you read this tell me exactly who you are. After which I will be contacting the Department of New Solaris Army" said Grigori.

"I told you! My name is Captain Christoph Frantz of the IIS Ruhm!" He was furious. He sat himself up despite the intense pain it brought him. "You think im crazy dont you! The facts add up! You found my ship in pieces! You found my crew!Show me that map of the world!." Grigori did and Frantz opened it and pointed to an area that wasnt filled in. "HERE! This is not filled in! Ironhull is here. We are not alone anymore. You have brothers in the south!"

Sargent put away his notebook and looks to Frantz. "Alright then this is defiantly the first time that someone who said is a diplomat and was true. Its kinda funny actually that all my years working I never thought this situation would happen". He stands up from his chair and says "Sorry for the problems sir, right now get well I will be letting the doctors treat you for the pain. I will be contacting the Department of New Solaris Army to send in the Royal Guards where they will be your acting bodyguards. You will be likely transferred to the Capital and will meet Elite General Darko De Luca and treated at his palace. For now decide what you want to do with your deceased subordinates that are found." said Grigori.

He was about to walk out of the room until he said this "No hard feelings sir, its my job to follow protocol and one thing you should know. New Solaris is in a riot mode when some humans where found eaten outside of New Solaris and the Elite General is not a very good mode so I would suggest to not aggravate him",

He shuts the door and orders his men to guard the patient until the Royal Guard arrives. Sargent Grigori walk out of the hospital walking towards to his HQ in order to contact the Capital about Captian Frantz.

Gregori walked out the door and Frantz layed back down and winced in pain. He had done his job so far. He was proud of himself for lasting this long. He fell asleep again, hoping for some relaxation knowing he was one step closer to his goal.

Frantz awoke with a jolt. He was soaked in sweat and felt on fire. He was reliving the events that brought him here. It seemed that every time he closed his eyes the final moments of his crew was being relived. Frantz shook his head and adjusted his position. He was sitting up now and thinking to himself. Where was he? Who were these people? All were questions that needed answering. He was still deep in thought when the door to his room opened.
