History Lesson (Plot)

Oil. One word describes it all. As oil diminished, prices rose. This continued for quite some time, until supplies were very minimal. The war in Iraq escalated, despite public outcry for U.S. Troops to return home. In 2013, heavy bombardment of Iraq's largest oil production facility had huge reverberations at home. This facility was responsible for most of the United State's foreign oil imports.
Over time, oil in the U.S. also ran dry. There was oil out there, just not enough to support the country. People began rioting, about the war, about the oil, about everything. Late in 2013, the U.S. Goverment instated Martial Law over all of the United States. Curfews were established, and many other laws. Specific areas became restricted to civilians, and anyone
who entered said areas could be shot on sight. People began to resist the laws and National Guard, often clashing violently with them in the streets. Everyone became tired of the situation, so the anarchy spread. Rioting, looting, muder, rape. Nothing was impossible, everything was permitted.
Even the soldiers who were supposed to protect the streets participated in such acts, often abandoning their post, selling guns and ammo, and more. By 2016, it was estimated that there was only enough oil in the world for ten more years. This meant, the end. Without oil, nothing would exist. Now, it is the year 2018. The situation is at an all time low, and things are looking grim.
Time to gear up.
