Character Name: Carl "Chef" Washington 

Age: 42

Appearance: Carl is about 6'2 in height and is quite tubby, so to speak.  He is slightly overweight, but, despite his looks, he is still very strong. He often wears regular jeans, a red t-shirt, and his trademark chef's hat.  He is dark skinned, as his parents were African American, and has short black hair, though you rarely see him with his hat off.  He has a full, black beard.

Personality: Carl is a lighthearted and jolly fellow, though Z-Day has hardened him slightly.  He is quick to make friends with people, though he takes time to forgive any wrongs against him.

Melee Weapon: A heavy fire axe that he has sharpened a little more so he can chop through his enemies a little more easily.

Misc Items (5 Max): He has a flashlight, first aid kit, a lighter, a frying pan, and a water bottle in his pack.

History: Carl was born in the suburbs of Miami, living an average life, hanging out all the time and barely passing high school.  After he graduated, he had no clue what to do with his life. His father urged him to join the family business, which was a cooking chain, but that idea didn't seem to good to him at the time.  Seeing no other thing to do, Carl joined the marines and stayed on duty for a few years, performing quite well.  After a while, he had seen much battle and loss and was ready to settle down, so he left the military and came back home to Miami.  Right when he got home he joined the family business and became a great chef.  When he father died a few years later he took over the business and managed it very well.  He spent almost twenty years on this job and loved it.  Then, Z-Day struck.  Now Carl has to keep to his wits and rely on his past training to survive in this harsh world.

Special Skills: He is very strong, good with cooking, has experience with some guns, has some decent mechanical skills, and is not a bad driver.
