NOTE: How This Game is Played

Hey all,

So, for a bit of background—your loving GMs have gathered together more times than one to get about planning Strings of Fate. Being something of a hybrid game, one of the largest questions we kept asking was—how exactly is this game going to be formatted? Initially, one large topic was brought up; then separate threads per each character's story. Debating amongst the three of us, a clear decision seemed far away as questions over legibility, ease-of-use, and longevity came to mind.

But, a hybrid game deserves a hybrid solution.

Strings of Fate will have THREE CORE ARCS. Each will vary on length and format.

ARC 1 will thus be split GEOGRAPHICALLY. Meaning that there will be two threads - one focusing on characters in the East, and the other focusing on characters in the West. It is unlikely that—during ARC 1 at least—characters from one end of the globe will meet those on the other.

If you do not know what end of the spectrum your character(s) fall on, please refer to the World Map, or visit the World_Building channel on Slack.

MAIN / GLOBAL EVENTS will be posted separately, similar to the game's ARC 1 opening post.

Please let us know if you have any questions regarding this setup. Once both threads get moving, it'll become a bit clearer.
