Chapter 1 : Arizona's Playground

Across the hot desert lays a motorhome traveling at highspeeds. The outside is marked with graffiti while being covered in extra sheet metal. The motorhome is nothing special but it contains many survivors with multiple personalities. Inside the motorhome lies Dante an ex-soldier who appears to be the only one awake and driving.

*Radio Playing "I Hate My Life" by Theory of a Deadman*

Dante sing along the song staring at his surroundings. "Hope the lake is close" saying to himself. Driving on Interstate 95 heading to a city named Lake Havasu. Dante keeps leaning his head back and forth like a bobblehead doll. Traveling for days put Dante in severe stress and for the rest of the crew.

Out of the horizon Dante sees two things. One is a sign showing that they have entered Lake Havasu. Second thing is he says a ballpark that seemed to be rusting out. "Hope the city itself is not as ugly as that park" saying to himself.

Dante yells in the motorhome "Get up guys we have made it". He excitedly speeds the motorhome up seeing the first intersection coming up.

*Suddenly the motorhome gets hit on the left side*

"What the.." The motorhome falls over onto its side sliding into a small building crashing through it.

Dante wakes up seeing he is still stuck in the driver's seat buckled. "Is everyone alright?" saying in the motorhome. He unbuckles the seat belt hitting the floor hard. The scent around Dante is burning gasoline. "This is not good" saying to himself. He looks in the mirror above him and see a fire enrading the rear of the motorhome. "Fire!" yelling out loud. "Get out now!". He kicks out the windshield. "Get out before you burn!" saying outloud.

The ride had been quite peaceful for Kazuki Isamu. He had been on the run with this group for quite some time escaping hordes of infecting and traveling all over the country. Kazuki himself was somewhat angered by the fact that he was stuck in America right when the infection started to get really bad. He'd feel much safer back in his homeland. If mankind ever recovered from this outbreak, Kazuki would make a note to himself to never make business trips again and settle down in one location.

Kazuki had been asleep for some time as they rode along, snoring softly. However, an abrupt jolt awoke him, allowing him to see as the motorhome was flipped on its side. Kazuki let out a yell as he banged his head on the side of the wall, blood oozing out of a gash on his head.

"Dammit... what the hell..." Kazuki grunted, unbuckling his seat belt and letting himself fall from his seat. "What a wake up call..."

Kazuki rubbed his cranium briefly and sighed, but once Dante mentioned that there was a fire, he started to panic, his hands visibly shaking. Taking initiative, Kazuki ran forward through the wreckage of the now flipped motorhome, standing beside Dante as he kicked the windshield out. Taking a lunge, Kazuki jumped through the shattered remains and made it outside, unharmed for the most part, other than a few cuts and the gash on his head.

"C-Come on everyone, get the hell out of there before it blows!" Kazuki yelled, waiting for the others to get out. He couldn't stop shaking because of the anticipation and sudden excitement. He shakily took out a cigarette and lit it, taking in some of the smoke to calm himself down. That was almost his only cure to this symptom. His problems with his addiction and his anxiety just combined into one big meltdown usually.

As much as Kazuki wanted to see everyone in the motorhome get out safely, he definitely wasn't going back in there to help get them out, so they were on their own with this problem. He might have good intentions, but Kazuki is no hero.

Zack Estrada Had been laying peacefully on a couch as they were driving along. He was dreaming of a childhood memory of his when his dream seamed to flip sideways. His eyes opened just in time for him to see he was flying straight toward the wall. He couldn't do anything but watch himself hit it, he brought his arms up to attempt to break an impact which succeeded partly. The damage he sustained was still pretty substantial however, he could feel warm blood running down the side of his face. He didn't remember what he hit it on but all he could think of was Dante yelling, "Fire, get out!"
He sat up dizzily for a moment, his head spinning. He looked around himself and saw Kazuki had already exited the vehicle. He knew he should do the same but he couldn't bring himself to move. Finally he pried himself up and away, grabbing his knife which now stuck in the wall. He first looked around to check for anyone else who needed help. He ran up to Dante and said to him, "Are you alright?"

Geanto sleeping heavily as the motorhome was driving with the hum of the engine. The drive was pretty peacfull Geanto didnt mind sleeping as much as he could. He was awoken by a sudden motion, and as he opend his eyes he was thrown against the wall of the motorhome. "dammit..." was all he wisperd as he opend his eyes again after the moving stoped. He sighd everything was still spinning to him, he knew he hit his head hard and thats when he heard Dante yelling, "Fire, get out!" and Kazuki yelling somthing else. "ehhh" Geanto sighed again grabing his gun and crawling out of the wrecked motorhome. He made it out and tried to stand but ended up falling on his side and was out of it.

David was busy dreaming about his unit in the previous war and how his company was attacked by Taliban as he still has nightmares about that day. When all of a sudden Dante wakes him up with his yelling. Immediatly he jumps up and grabs his pistol when he realises that it isn't dreaming anymore. As he puts the gun down he feels the Moterhome start to wobble and fall over. He grabs his Camelback and M-16 and begins to make his way to the front of the home when it falls over and he slams his knee into the wall. out of the confusion he hears Dante yell "Fire! Get out now!" and muscles through the pain to get out of the home and fall onto the side of the road.

Matthias had been asleep for most of ride when a sudden disturbance interrupted his light nap; moaning, he realized that instead of in the comfortable couch rolled out in the motor home, it was now positioned upon the ceiling -- according to gravity -- and out of reach. Lifting himself up, he cracked his now screaming back, the nerves within his body aching from the fall onto the rigid wall and windows which now became the floor.

Disturbing his train of thought, Matthias was returned to reality when the words "FIRE!" were heard, booming through his ears - that was Dante, alright. Looking for the fire, he noted it in the rear of the vehicle; time was against them. Grabbing his messanger bag, he wasted no time maneuvering his way to the front of the motor-home. Jumping out of the large automobile, he strode over to the others, quickly moving to avoid any debris that might come his way. This was not a fun day so far.

"Damnit," Matthias disconcertingly muttered, looking at their previous transportation. "What the hell happened? Are you that incapable of driving, Dante?" He inquired, his face still stoic, as per usual.

Dante snares at Matthias and says "Hey this is not my fault.....something hit us". He looks at the motorhome and see it burning to ashes. "This is very gay" saying to himself. He unholsters his pistol and looks around the group.

"Something is going on"

He looks to the horizon and see a couple of slow moving objects heading towards him.

The SGPS rings out loud and Dante's eyes widen.

"This is very bad....very bad"

He opens it and the SGPS reads:

Computer : "Accessing satelite........granted

Detection of multiple infected in range........Please head to emergency location"

Visual Feed:

Dante closes the device and look towards everyone holding his pistol in the air.

Saying to the group "We got thirity bran dead freaks comming towards us.......we need to run....now"

Dante sprints to the location what the SGPS indicated.

David hears Dante's speech "My leg suddenly feels perfect..." David sees the Infected coming closer and sprints to Dante. "Well, if these things ever figure out how to hold guns then we're pretty much screwed right now eh?"

Zack climbed out behind them all, seeing them sprinting ahead of him he jolted forward at a complete sprint, catching up with them. "Where the hell are we going" he said after he rejoined them. "And why the hell did we flip over!"

Dave keeps running and says "Look... aroun..you.... Dang I shouldn't have cut gym..."

"You should also not have cut your rock climbing class Dave". Dante looksto everyone and says "The place we are running to is a gated storage facility that can prevent the infected go inside".

Dante looks and points out the facility "Thats is". He suddently stops looking atthe horde of infected running to the group "Damn zombies". He looks to the facility walls and sees its 9 feet tall.

"Damn it thats way to tall". Dante looks around and sees a old palm tree leaning to the roof of the storarge rooms"

"We need to climb that and destroy it afterwards" pointing to the old palm tree.

Kazuki ran along with the others, panting as he stumbled across a few pieces of rubble. Thirty infected? Kazuki thought to himself frantically. You've gotta be kidding to me... As the facility came into view, Kazuki suddenly felt a little relieved. Once they were inside they would be safe from those blood hungry maniacs.

As soon as Dante said the only way into the facility was through climbing the dead palm tree, Kazuki sighed.

"Dammit," he said. "I hate heights. Oh well. It's better than being eaten alive."

Kazuki looked at the palm tree, not exactly sure how to progress. Once he saw some others start climbing, he'd probably catch the idea. He certainly hoped he'd have enough endurance to make it up. The only thing he knew was that he would definitely not go first.

"Alright..." Kazuki said, looking at the others. "Who goes first?"

Dave sees the palm tree and says "Alright I have this knife I'm going to climb up jump on to the wall toss the knife back and give you all cover." Dave begins his ascent and seems to be making very good progress. "I don't know if this was smart or really dumb..." Dave gets to the top of the tree and throws the knife back down. "Alright mates! Who's next?"

Zack pulled out his Glock and slapped an extended clip in saying, "Go il cover you all if they get close." He flipped the switch to full auto and knelt down, supporting his arm.

Dante taps on Zacks shoulder and says "I aint going reclaiming your body if it the horde comes in"

He jumps on the leaned palm tree and starts to climb up the decayed tree untill finnaly hitting the roof. He looks over the horizon and yells out "Many zombies are comming......start climbing".

He pulls out his pistol and starts aiming preparing for a turkey shoot.

"Time for Zack to start climbing" yelling out. He pulls Dave and asks him if he can find the entry gate.

He tosses a machette to Kazuki and says "Once Zack is over start chopping the tree so it will break"

Zack sprays once into the crowd, taking down the front line of zombies. He turned around and sprinted for the tree, loosing his bowie knife. He stabbed the tree and quickly shimmied up it. When he was at the top he balanced on the fence and said, "Do it!" He aimed down and waited for any zombies to try and climb the tree.

Dave runs around to the back of the the west building. "Dang this day is a very hot one... There's the gate, and it seems secure, I just hope and can say that about the team..." Dave runs back around the building to Dante, "Aright gate's padlocked and chain linked, now then I have to even my score." Dave picks up his M-16 and begins tearing through the crowd of infected.

Geanto quickly climbed the tree with the others still a little out of it had prepared his shotgun for the mass of freaks approaching. once ontop took a couple shots taking a couple down in the first wave.

Once Kazuki was at the top, Dante handed him a machete, giving him instructions to cut down the part of the tree that was keeping it up on the roof after Zach made it. Kazuki didn't have much time to argue, as the next events happened very quickly. Within no time Zach was up the tree and the infected were following closely after.

"Dammit!" Kazuki yelled, starting to swing at the tree. It took a few swings, but eventually it broke through the part that was holding it up and the tree crashed down, the infected falling with it.

"Hell... that was too close," Kazuki said, panting in exhaustion.

Dante jumps off the roof and lands on the asphalt. Looking around he sees a bunch of locked up storages with no life around. He can hear the loud moaning of the infected and just then Dante just shivers as if he is cold. "This is just creepy". Looking around a idea is sparked. "Lets get settle up since night should be coming in very soon" saying to the group.

He pulls out his machete and starts cutting up the rusty locks on the building storage rooms. Six rooms unlocked and contain the following items.

Locker 1 : Couple of lawn chairs

Locker 2 : Several medical gurneys

Locker 3 : Firewood

Locker 4 : Nothing

Locker 5 : A patio table and chairs

Locker 6 : Bunch of mattresses.


He looks up to everyone and yells out "We got no food, no water, and no vehicles but, at least we can have a camp fire and something to sleep on".

He starts sitting down and pulls out the SGPS. It reads 5:35 PM (1 Hour & 65 Minutes before the sun goes down)

Dante yells out "Alright guys should we sleep now or grab some supplies before night hits us?"
