Saito Hajime

This is more or less for when the Shinsengumi finally reach him and he rejoins. He will act as my second primary character, with the secondaries being the rest of the Shinsengumi.

Personality: Saito is by far, the quietest of the old Shinsengumi. He was regarded as calm and collected, even in the most stressful of situations. With friends, he is considerate, caring, and loyal to the end. In battle, he comes across as nigh indifferent.

History: Saito was one of the core members of the Shinsengumi during the Bakumatsu. He, along with Nagakura Shinpachi and Okita Souji, were regarded as the greatest swordsmen of the organization, highly skilled in the martial arts and tactics of war. Through the Bakumatsu, he was seen as a scurge, demonized by the Ishin-Shishi as one to look out for, and indeed to fear. He led his own squad into battle, and though after the Bakumatsu, moved on to help the Meiji, still kept the Shinsengumi in his heart as the only organization he would ever truly be loyal to, openly stating the old creed of "Aku Soku Zan".
