History The New Temperians are one of the oldest races of Ryerdae. They historically are the second of the races to inhabit Ryerdae, the first being the Ayleids. They were first introduced to the land, by the Great Immigration, which was due to a large plague which ran through their homeland. The New Temperians were the first to create a formal Monarchy, which later became a Imperial State, after Polius I found the Oracles Mandate. It has been said that the earliest of this race were the very ones who exterminated the last of the Ayleid race over a land and power dispute. Since Polius I took over the land and unified the other six nations (which soon arrived to Ryerdae afterward), the world was for a long while at peace. A period of two hundred years had gone by since the first war.
By RFA 550, The New Temperians had been in control of the land, and solidified its total rule over the the citizens. The six nations became Feudal States, and adhered to the rule of the Emperor. A complex system of laws was instituted over the Union, as well as a Imperial Police, which ran across the entire land (except the Netherland Regions). Wars were scarce, and crime was even less prominent due to the national police system. But, by RFA 730, the government had started to crumble without a Emperor, and the laws were starting to become less effective. Crime rates rose, wars between the Feudal States and the Imperial City became common place, and the normal everyday people of Ryerdae lived in constant fear.
This continues to the present. The Imperial City is indeed a shell of its former glory. The high walls of the city, the ornate buildings, and the stone roads have started to decay right alongside the Imperial Line. The line however will hold by a single thread until it is cut. The single thread, happens to be Polius V, the five year old son of the previous Emperor. In the Palace, the still loyal Imperial Guard always protect the last ray of hope for the Empire, as well as a choice few of Polius IV's retainers. The government now, however, is corrupt, and full of power hungry politicians. Some are still in power though, who care, no matter how silenced they are by the others.
Appearance The New Temperians look much like any other humans, aside from the fact that they are tan skinned, and tend to be more athletically inclined than some other races. Most of the young males are pressed into service for the Empire. Others tend to be put into jobs that help the people, those being fishermen, blacksmiths, tailors, and other such jobs. Most have dark hair, that of black or brown, and have any normal color of eyes.
Personality The New Temperian race is considered very proud due to their lineage, and some arrogant. Most however, are quite friendly, and hold a silent mannerism that is found everywhere. For those who are in the military, they have a easy going disposition, but while in battle, they will never give up. For the Imperial Guard, they are loyal until the end, only to the Emperor and their line. Through training and constant battle, the soldiers are extremely formidable foes in most every battlefield.
Beliefs The New Temperians consider their Emperor something like a semi-deity, and hold them in very high regards. Otherwise, religion is not that much of an important aspect in their lives. When they do pray, it is mostly toward their first god, Arkantos, who is the God of War. Or their second, Kastor: The God of Prosperity. Other beliefs that have nothing to do with Religion would be the belief in manners, and politeness. Bowing is the most used form of greeting and respect toward another.
Culture The Temperian culture focuses on their art, music, and sometimes even war. Those who are artists or musicians are held in high regard in the class system, no matter if you are poor or rich. This is do to their sound belief that entertainment is a very important part in society.
War is a major part of their culture as most of the men, throughout history, have been in the military. Their victories in battle only bolster this aspect. The warriors culture focuses on bravery in war, loyalty to the Emperor, and strength in battle.
Relationship with other races The Imperials used to have a great relationship with the other races, but since the collapse of the national rule, the relationship is either non-existent or very strained. New Termperians tend to keep away from other races now, due to said relationship, and if they are verbally attacked by an "outsider", they will attack back using force.
