The Ayleids
Singular: Ayleid
Plural: Ayleid (s)
Pronunciation: Ae - Lee - Id
Life span: 500- ? years
Location: Ryerdae
Strengths: Magic, combat, mysticism, architecture
Weaknesses: ?
History The Ayleid were considered to be the very first race that inhabited Ryerdae. They are filled with mystery, as it seems they were the pure Ryerdaen race. No other races lived along side them, until the New Temperians ventured to the land. It is said that they were all exterminated by the New Temperians, due to a land or power dispute, but this is just insinuation. There are no remaining Ayleid remnants as far as the population of Ryerdae knows, aside from the ancient ruins and catacombs that they left behind. Their writing system has been adapted into the Imperial system, but the original form has been almost forgotten, aside from the few Imperial Scholars and Sages that still study the runes.
It is said that the Ayleids were of a type of Elven race, far superior to the natural Eldar. Those of this race of elves were considered to be almost deities and worshiped by those of the other Elven races. New developments on the Ayleid race are always coming in to the Imperial Academy from researchers. Much of the information however, is held secret from those of the other races.
Appearance It is generally unknown of what the Ayleids looked like, aside from the fact that they were of elven blood.
Personality It is believed that the Ayleids were a peaceful race, and yet wrathful when it came to the battlefield. Their technology and foresight tell modern scholars that they somehow were far superior to any of the present races. Much like a Dark Age, their technology and ways of life have been quite forgotten.
Beliefs It is unknown whether the Ayleids had a particular set of beliefs or religious gods or goddesses.
Culture Much is still unknown aside from their personalities and technological know-how. One thing that is present however, at all of the ruins, is that they are made of a mysterious stone work and built in such a way, that the ruins never fall or erode. Magic?
