Tamrodiil: The Southern Jewel

Geography: The land of Tamrodiil is the most fertile of them all, as they are enchanted by the elves that live there. To the north of Tamrodiil are small sets of mountains, while toward the outer edges and center, the land is green, lush, and hilly. In the very center is a large ravine and cliff face At the bottom lies the main city of Tamrodiil, considered to be their own capital, Ellesmare. It is more or less, a sanctuary for the elves who live there. To the east of Ellesmare stands their second largest city, also a large port, Gladremis. Then, to the west stands Tar-Elemil, a large fortress-city, held together by a localized military government and Elven warriors.


Location: Tamrodiil lies on the very southern end of Ryerdae, with New Tempera to the north, the Netherland Regions to the west over a long bay, and to the east lies Anumias and farther out, Guylos.


Architecture: The structures of the buildings in Tamrodiil are mostly of wood, and many are elegantly carved with runes and various flowing designs. Homes stand everywhere from on the ground, to in a tree, as long as it is a peaceful area. The taller buildings are nearly always military towers used for bowmen, therefore most commercial buildings are smaller and lower to the ground, unless they are in a tree. Colors are usually natural and subtle, and the roofs are of tiles, much like the Temperian style, aside from color choice, which is mild and dark.


Past History: Upon the Great Immigration which was the very beginning of the first age in Ryerdae, the Tamrodiilians were one of the first peoples to inhabit the land. Unlike many of the other races, they were he only ones who came from a different part of Ryerdae (supposedly) that had wasted away. Tamrodiil was created as a independent nation at first, and remained sovereign up until RFA 550, when the New Temperians assumed their position as leaders of Ryerdae, after creating an Empire. Therefore, Tamrodiil was forced into becoming the fifth Feudal State to join the Empire under the rule of Polius II.
Upon the Assassination of Polius IV however, Tamrodiil seceded along with the other Feudal States from the Empire, becoming relatively independent again, but under a monarch, Ellessar.
