Dominante's Journal Empty Dominante's Journal

Fri Jul 15, 2011 2:17 pm
:: OOC ::

Took a while to work out a new method of establishing these such things, but I think this should do the job just fine.

Not required, but for added reading value, suggested background music - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCyhyO9UJBE

:: IC ::

It has been nearly two weeks since I took the rite and became the Dominante of the Holy Empire.

I will begin this entry with a reminder as to why, unlike every last one of my predecessors, I am keeping a journal, why I am not relying on my scribes to do so, and why I have written yesterday's entry and every entry before it: I am writing this journal for two primary purposes - Firstly, in the event of my premature demise as such that my long term objectives are not met, the guidelines I intend to set forth for the overall betterment of the empire are as yet not instilled into the minds of my subordinates and as such that the revolution of consciousness that we dearly need has not yet occurred, that, hopefully, should my successor have the wisdom to understand the value of learning from my own past experiences, that they may follow in my footsteps and towards the greater betterment of the Holy Empire overall; And secondly, that in light of my father's ailing psychological capacity as his years grew heavier, failures of those that came before him and in light of the opportunistic nature and tit-for-tat politics of my kin, that this journal may serve as a healthy reminder as to my original reasons and intent for forcibly ending my father's reign.

Time flows like a river, and history repeats - Lest we learn the lessons of our mistakes and past transgressions and lest we vigilantly uphold the wisdoms that time has to offer, assuredly, we shall become the transgressors of our own demise, holding nothing and no one responsible but ourselves.

My first two weeks in office have been met both with great opposition and great success - Undeniably, opposition is to be expected and conversely was less than had been on my part, and undoubtedly, my success is directly proportionate to the measures that I take and at no point shall I dare allow myself to feel entirely comfortable or satisfied with this success, for comfort and satisfaction lead to complacently and lack of continued action - Divine discontent is the key to stimulating change, and the action of change must be as malleable as water, as potent as fire, as steadfast as earth and swift as the wind - Strategic, taken with as cool, calm and collected a measure as the awaiting of the soul by the Trialith, unified by common solidarity safe-guarded by hope.

His mission in Hrvaskétljá completed, I sent Kommandra Zemyon to acquire Trialith Kaérn's answer to my claim to rite, and as I'd originally suspected, there were no problems - The monks have openly welcomed my claim without dispute. Upon Zemyon's return, I have had him remain in Kšetai Rakhát in charge of security while I attend administrative duties.

Génerále Leraie has proven himself a most valuable asset - Despite everyone's serious doubts, including the doubts of my advisors, family members and even Leraie himself, he has proven my initial assessment of his capabilities to be correct. With the forces I had bestowed under his command, under my orders, he succeeded in a surprise storm of that hellhole of an island where my father had Kent locked up for most of his life - Kzatšaratšešim - and completely obliterated everything that stood on it. Those responsible for conspiring to assassinate my brother have been executed and the remainder of the island's occupants forced to submit to Leraie, and thus, me. Under my orders, the entire surface of the island has been purged in preparation for the first of five developmental plans I have recently put into motion - Zúkzatšaljá. Once Kzatšaratšešim had been taken, Leraie placed Kommandra Kóljá, one of his subordinates, in charge of administration of the island and moved onto Hráršim. At Hráršim, reportedly, his forces met little to no resistance - Not unexpected, as the island, afterall, is comprised predominantly of primitive camp settlements and grottos. Much as before, the entire surface of Hráršim, too, has been purged in preparation for the second of five developmental plans I have initiated - Hrárra Pokrát. For the time being, Génerále Leraie remains on Hráršim supervising construction efforts.

I have tasked Kommandante Jaóûn, Kommandant of Torvél Rakhát, with preparing and organising the third and fourth of these developmental plans - A massive appendment to Aést Rakhát, the Empire's major fortified outpost near the far north-east cape of Toškhátšim where the Oudínmaré meets the Barren Ocean, raising it to city status, and the development of Márkšendéle, a small, trading town situated at the mouth of the Márkšen Hravín, bringing it, too, to city status. These tasks have been put into action and construction has began.

The fifth and final development project that I have initiated thus far is the construction of Dárkšendéle - A new fortified town to be situated at the Dárkšen Delta, to act as an intermediary between Hrvaskétljá and Máraémhljá.

These development projects are important, but just as with all my current goals and objectives, should neither forego nor supersede in importance that of any other.

I have been speaking at great lengths with Kommandante Kaitlên (Kommandante of Kait Rakhát and Supreme Kommandante of Kšúkhešim) on a number of subjects, including long term plans for the Empire - Surprisingly, she appears, from discussion thus far, to have similar ideas to my own, and has been a major unexpected asset, expressing full support of my claim, and furthermore, taking action of her own accord to ensure the full support of all powers within Kšúkhešim to my claim. She has also brought forth several ideas that I had not thought of myself, to which, I must confess, I find her intellectually fascinating. I must also confess that I find her physically fascinating - Of the four distinct Toškhát ethnicities (Kšetai - the most common ethnicity and also my own, Kšúkhe, Sud and Nórd), she is perhaps one of the most prime examples of her own that I have ever seen. All four ethnicities originate from a single common ancestor originating in Toškhátšim - The Kšetai, remaining true to the ways of life of this common ancestor by living and hunting within the open savanna where our species originally evolved from a cat-like creature not unlike the tiger, naturally, are larger and more heavily built than their counter-parts, whereas the Kšúkhe, for which Kšúkhešim is so named, took to the trees and jungle, evolving to become faster, slightly smaller and noticeably more lithe. Historical reflections and further ethnical analysis aside, as such are irrelevant to my point - She has a fluidity in both word and motion that strongly reflects those traits associated. However, these things, perhaps, I will reflect on at a later date - Such is irrelevant to the goals and objectives at hand.

Kzanplutó remains a major concern, but until I've had ample opportunity to have my forces investigate, there is little to document. Hopefully, there will be little to document within the foreseeable future until I'm able to act - The last thing I need right now is a rogue naval force acting of its own accord under the banner of the Holy Empire. However, on that note, Kommandante Kaitlên has suggested a course of action I find particularly appealing. Note to self - Refer to dossier, "The Sudšim Solution".

OOC - This is not yet finished by a long shot. But it's 2:14 AM, I'm more tired than a.. Guy that can't think of a witty way to finish this sentence because he's too tired to think correctly or even read the screen (which, on that note - I haven't proofed this yet, because I'm tired, so my apologies in advanced if you detect any derpiness in my post), so I'm going to leave this for now and continue it after I've had at least a few hours sleep. G'night everyone, thanks for reading, hope you enjoy it, etcetera.

Dominante's Journal Empty Re: Dominante's Journal

Fri Jul 15, 2011 11:59 pm
My father, in his ailing years, allowed the heirachy to degradate - This I must correct by reigning in the entirety of Empire under my command, under a renewed command structure, but additionally, that command must be earned through mutual loyalty, honour and respect. Of course, two weeks is not enough time to achieve these things, and it is a path that I may be following for many years before its destination is realised, but is a path to never lose sight of and a path I have already began walking.

I have not yet had any direct attempts on my life, which could be good or bad. Good, as a sign that perhaps, I have far succeeded my predecessors in ability to gain submittion as quickly and efficiently as possible, or that simply, my home defense is strong enough that no one has dared try; Bad, in that potentially, in reality, I have not truly gained submittion, and on one takes me seriously enough to bother trying. In any case, I remain here unchallenged.

On a personal note, since their arrival, I have had opportunity to properly introduce myself to my niece and nephew, Kzvénka and Iêrú - They are adorable, well behaved and intelligent youth, and I am glad to have finally met them.

One of the key points of discussion between Kommandante Kaitlên and myself - These are one of those ideas that we shared in common well before speaking, to which I had kept entirely to myself before speaking with her - Albeit, I spoke shortly thereafter with Saitka and Kent, and they are both in agreement with me - Were the imminent importances of reliable foreign allies.

With the exception of occasional merchants and trade ships, notably those from Erynnen, and restricted to our coastal trading ports, and with exception where is concerned the diplomatic agreement between the New Capua Republic and the Holy Empire, the Holy Empire has had literally zero contact with the outside world in nearly a century. In more recent decades, I blame this on the attitudes of my father - As Dominante, his isolationist and xenophobic views, coupled with the outwardly aggressive composure of my kin in comparison to those races of foreign descent, such as humans, elves and the likes, meant that with exception to pirates and those few individuals dishonourably stripped of rank, and with exception to those involved with the Capuan-Toshkhat diplomatic agreement which in itself was a major stroke of luck for both sides in how much success it has had, no one of the Holy Empire in that time has dared step foot outside our territories, and conversely, beyond the edges of our coastal trading ports, to where they simply come, do business and leave again, no one from outside of the Holy Empire has dared step foot inside our territories.

That being said, on one hand, his views were understandable - He himself, came into power by killing his predecessor, which he did towards the end of the Great War - A period of internal strife which saw further drastic militarisation of what has traditionally always been a highly militarised and regimented Empire as it is - The Great War, though restricted locally and not involving foreign powers, resulted in many things both good and bad, but in itself was further reason why for the previous few decades, we neither received nor gave visitors. Nonetheless, this is not a history lesson, and I digress.

The importance of reliable foreign allies.

If for nothing else, prominently, due to our lack of foreign contact, with exception to Capua, there is little we know about the outside world and little that it knows about us - We have detailed world maps and detailed documentation regarding culture, politics, people and the likes, but most of it is outdated by over a century. We do not know if we have been left behind in the progress of the world, if so, but how far, and more importantly, what threats may lay beyond our borders. Both Alba and Solaris lay only a mere stones throw away from our shores, yet amazingly, neither ourselves nor either of those states have attempted any recent cross-contact. Lack of communication in itself expresses the level of trust one state holds towards another, and regardless of threat or political circumstance, is not something to be shrugged off. I must correct this.

That aside, assuredly, there is much we could learn and many ways in which we could mutually better ourselves by having reliable foreign allies - There is only so much one nation can do alone, and working together has the potential to enrich culture and bring new ideas forward for both.

Of note, I am particularly keen on improving relations with our Dwarven neighbours. They are small and hardy creatures, which, compared to human or elves, appear a less appetizing and less fulfilling meal in the eyes of a hungry Toškhát, which immediate provides for easier grounds to maintain relations - Though the idea of not eating your friends is common sense and clearly something to be instilled with and upheld by all, in some cases, especially with younger, lower ranked officers of the empire, it was an idea hard to swallow. Luckily, no incidents had as of yet occurred, despite much of the lore undoubtedly circulating the world, attributed mostly to years long past. More importantly, however - Notoriously dedicated engineers and researchers, they could provide where we lacked in several areas of technological interest, to to them, we could potentially provide what they lacked in a physical sense, amongst other things.

I am, however, keeping my eyes and ears open to all possibilities. I intend, by the end of this week, to send out diplomats to a number of foreign powers in the hope to reestablish relations long since lost and improve on those where possible.

Saitka, my sister, I have left in charge of updating and amending contingency plans, including those concerning the advent of war - Though our information is outdated, there are several seemingly viable solutions at hand, to which, since having began the process of renewing the command structure, we are preparing for. Much of her work is still in progress, but all can be found in the palace archives.

Kent, my brother, I have left to his own accord simply with the instruction to do exactly that which he does best, that of which where much of us are lacking, leaving a contingent under his command adequate to protect his well being and ensure the safety of his work - Though most subordinates would likely panic or become distressed being given such vague orders, Kent was overjoyed by the prospects of it, and within these past two weeks has already led to some interesting results.

A new kind of battle armour, built from an alloy much harder, durable and lighter than previous alloys, resigned in such a way as to render everything we know about muskets and hand canons entirely obsolete - Essentially a cover-all steel skin able to withstand the impact of musket balls and hand canon jettison. The design has already been completed, but manufacturing likely won't begin for at least another week, and it will require the construction of new forges that are not readily available at this time. Of course, once it does, we'll be forced to rethink our weapons, too, lest we be forced into mêlée in the advent of domestic dispute.

He has also mentioned a few sketches of small explosive devices not unlike traditional grenades, but far more powerful - I do not recall the details off-handed at this time, but I'll be sure to re-read the documentation later today.

I also spoke briefly with the Kommandante of Bétšue Rakhát, who has informed me of the situation of our naval forces - Having seen little to no use over the past century with exception for intra-imperial business and island hopping, a decrepit blight on the honour of the Empire, naval assets must be completely built up from scratch and reinvigorated anew. This I shall see to immediately.

There is little else to report at this time. I will continue when I next see fit, and for now, conclude - I must begin preparing diplomatic assets.

In the name of the Empire,
Dominante Trévutó Dâutên Kšetai Rakhát.

Dominante's Journal Empty Re: Dominante's Journal

Tue Jul 19, 2011 3:23 am

It has been a month since I became the Dominante of the Holy Empire.

I have been in communication with Antony Lassale of the Republic of Capua - A respectable dwarf through whom I have conducted my attempts at forging closer Capuan ties. To these regards, there has been some limited success with Capua agreeing to the "cultural trade proposal" I'd submitted on the Empire's behalf. However, my other three proposals, "Inter-military implementation proposal", "Engineering and technologies proposal" and "Defense Pact", were rejected. More pressing matters at hand, I intend to push no further with this one for the foreseeable future. I have tasked Brighátra Máhkó, my foremost expert on imperial economics, with representing imperial interests, and Capua has tasked Guy Lepellier with representing Capuan interests. so far as continuation of that first proposal is concerned.

I have also been in communication with High Captain Ciltesse of the Erynnen Isles seeking the establishment of a formal embassy and creating closer ties by way of a trade agreement, and there does appear to be some significant potential so far as this matter is concerned - I, along with a number of my advisors and high ranking officials, will be meeting with Ciltesse later today for further discussion. I look forward to this and hope for the best - For the sake of both parties, hopefully security will be adequate.

If these discussions are a success, I intend to focus heavily on fostering strong Toshkhat-Erynnen relations - We are isolated but have much to offer in way of resources and strength, whereas they have access to the world and strong trade interests - Each has what the other wants, and through those wants, may be the safest and most efficient way to achieve my goal of bringing the Empire out of its isolation.

Kzanplutó remains a concern. I sent a party to meet with local officials a number of days ago, but they have neither returned nor sent word since leaving. Last I'd heard word, the city was under the control of Génerále Kztárbor - Promoted by my father long ago and forgotten about, long since notorious for piracy and crimes against the empire. I have spoken with Kommandante Kaitlên of Kait Rakhát and Kommandante Témuka of Bétšue Pokrát, and we have formulated a plan to isolate the city and ensure it doesn't become a threat to our interests - The city is well fortified and well defended, so we've mutually decided that isolation is the best strategy for now, and that'll we invade at a later date, when we've satisfactorially strengthened local surrounding forces.

Kommandra Kóljá reports phenominal progress with Zúkzatšaljá as does Génerále Leraie with Hrárra Pokrát - The foundations of the city have been prepared, and completion of primary plans likely to occur by the end of the year.

Kommandante Jaóûn reports good progress with Aést Rakhát, and likely, should nothing go wrong, completion of primary plans should occur by the end of the year - But he has also reported some suspicious behavior amongst certain workers. I trust he can take care of it.

Saitka has little to report at this time. However, Kent tells me that our new forges are nearly complete and that we should be able to begin manufacturing our new armour systems fairly soon, but is hesitant to give an exact date - Resources stretched by naval commitments may have an impact. That being said, I've approved his request to begin mining trialith ore at a slightly deeper level than previously allowed, on condition that he keeps quiet about it and does so in controlled quantities - Due to religious superstitions, my father put a ban on such mining, limiting the empire to use of surface quantities of the precious ore and mines of limited depth. Though prevalent in the north, surface ores and shallow ores are of a much lower quality grade than deeper underground ores, and those higher grade ores will be needed for certain plans that Kent has put forward. I've assigned Kommandra Zemyon to assist Kent in whatever way necessary, as he's been busy conferring with the local monks to ensure there isn't any sort of revolt as a result.

My commitment to rebuilding our naval assets has been underway for only about two weeks, but I can see progress already - Our drydocks have pulled apart most of our older and unusable ships in order to cannibalise scrap for the construction of newer, more modern ships, which should begin shortly.

OOC: Have to run to work in 8 minutes. Don't want to have to rush this more than I already am, panicking about missing my bus, so I'll finish this when I get home or something. Haven't proofed this yet, literally speed typing this whole thing in notepad, so my apologies if there's any errors, spelling or otherwise. If something doesn't make sense, point it out to me and I'll fix it later. Thanks.

:: OOC ::

As always, my head works much faster than my fingers, unfortunately, and in my own mind, I've already raced light years beyond my last post here. That, compounded with work commitments, and I suddenly don't feel like wasting hours trying to finish this. Will cover what's missing in bulletpoint. Assume it's journal format.

* Further mention of pending development projects, including Márkšendéle and Dárkšendéle (omitted from previous post).

* Detailing of HE progress in rebuilding its naval assets.

* Detailing of HE progress in furtherment of its combat capabilities and development of new technologies (already mention basics, so you get the idea - Will post more details before it's completed anyhow, so nothing will be a surprise in the long run).

* Assessment of all HE generals, their loyalty, values and etc in the eyes of the Dominante.

* Detailing of a few dozen long term plans, contingencies, operations and etc that I've got planned. I do have many numerous operations planned, but don't really have time to mention them here. Not hugely necessary anyhow. I'll mention them when, if, they happen, anyhow.

* Progress in north.

* Mentioning further isolation of domestic enemies.

* Detailed assessment of foreign powers (might post this in a separate thread).

Dominante's Journal Empty Re: Dominante's Journal

Wed Jul 27, 2011 12:04 am
Shortly after writing my previous entry, prior to my leaving for the Holy Empire - Erynnen trade negotiations, one of my scribe's brought some disturbing information to my attention.

He'd stumbled upon a letter from Capua to its emissarial office in the Empire, advising its staff of an imminent invasion of the Empire by Solaris. I have taken measures to verify this letter and its contents, and both the letter and the threat that it details appear to be genuine. I am not entirely sure at this stage as to why Capua failed to share this information earlier, but at this point, it is no longer important - What is important is that I make adequate preparations for Solaris' planned invasion. Though we've yet been able to ascertain the exact capabilities of Solaris, from the information available to me, it is a consideration of the utmost seriousness.

In light of this threat, there are a number of actions that I have undertaken as counter-measures, foremost of which were some significant changes to what I'd originally intended to negotiate with Erynnen for - Details of these changes as well as the results of these negotiations can be found in the imperial archives.

In light of this threat, all developmental projects unrelated to defense have been postponed. Luckily, one of the various unexpected fruits of the Empire's numerous civil wars is the vast number of generally unnecessary and expendable fortifications throughout imperial territories - That of those which could be strategically used in defense of the Empire against Solaris will be further built up and military assets in our new cities will be prioritised.

Considering how easily the palace was reached - Demonstrated by a diplomat from Ironhull whom hand delivered a message to the palace from our posts without being held or questioned prior to his arrival - And in the interests of preventing such an act occurring from a Solari transgressor, I've made drastic modifications to our border control policies and doubled security at the palace.

I've called all of my generals to brief and made them aware of the situation - We've all discussed the matter at great length, and conclusions have been reached. Everything else can wait, for as of right now, only one thing matters - Our enemies, without provocation, have planned an attack on our sovereignty, and this is something that we can neither tolerate nor forgive. War is inevitable, and we must destroy our enemies so completely as to render them incapable of ever planning such an attach ever again.

It has been three days since the conclusion of of negotiations between the Holy Empire and Erynnen, two days since the conclusion of our military briefing.

Kent has told me that with the reallocation of resources as of these new developments, that our forges should be completed and equipping our soldiers with the latest state of the art arsenal well in time for a potential preemptive invasion of Solaris. This is good news.

Additionally, with embassies now in place between Erynnen and the Holy Empire, and with the agreement reached, the efficiency of our naval revitalisation project has exponentially increased, and with my scouts now equipped on Erynnen vessels, I will have, to some degree, eyes and ears to the rest of the world before our new ships are completed - During what could potentially be a crucial period for it.

Of course, the soldiers of the Holy Empire never let up on their training and are always ready for anything the world could through at them, with nearly a century of internal tyrany and prior civil war giving them a refined, sharpened edge, that I'm more than confident is capable of slicing through any threat or adversary. That being said, information is always imperitive to optimum strategic advantage, which is the reasoning behind several recent assignments I've placed, and, regardless of training, knowing when who your enemy is and when they're coming always helps - I've enforced new training regimes targetted towards these ends.

This threat, ironically, does provide a possible solution to my problem with Kzanplutó and Génerále Kztárbor - He has always hated humans, preferred isolation and supported my father over myself, but, there is, after all, nearly no better way to recontiguate against the distances of belligerence than by unity through common goals and friendship through common foes. To that end, and in light of none of my soldiers being capable of getting close enough to be able to even simply deliver a message, I've contacted the priests and had them send one on my behalf. He may be a despot, but he's still a follower of the trialith, and no follower of the trialith would dare harm a priest of the trialith.

I am considering a preemptive strike against Solaris, but for the time being, I await word from my scouts and the results of their assignments.

Resources have been pulled from the borders, strategic fortification implementation completed and the Torvél Gate closed.

Dominante's Journal Empty Re: Dominante's Journal

Wed Jul 27, 2011 3:04 am
It has been nearly five weeks since I took the rite.

I have recently received news that the priests were successful in their mission to Kzanplutó. Génerále Kztárbor, through the priests, has sent a particularly colourful communication making his position clear in light of what I have informed him of: He will submit to my claim and serve me in order to protect the Toškhát, but not to protect my claim; He has made it quite clear that he feels that I am too trusting of foreigners and that an invasion by Solaris was both predictable and to be expected. He also wishes to be recognised as the ruling Kommandante of Sudšim, rather than as simply that of Kzanplutó, and has stated that this is condition of his submitting to my claim.

Though not something I'm keen to do, and though I'm not entirely sure how I'd deal with the Kommandate of Sud Pokrát - Current ruler of Sudšim - It may be the best and most efficient course to completely unifying the Holy Empire under my command. That aside, though I don't particularly trust Génerále Kztárbor, his military ability would be an invaluable asset in the fight against Solaris, if I could control it. He does, after all, already have his own fleet, that, albeit small, is likely larger than what the rest of the Holy Empire combined has at this stage.

Notably, though drastic plans for a swift preemptive invasion of Solaris by the Holy Empire have been put into motion, ultimately, I'd rather that they make the first move - We may quite possible come off much better in a first strike if it is committed by the enemy, for in such an instance, we have both the home advantage and should be able to rely on our fortifications and the prowess of our armies to defeat them, as opposed to relying heavily on the navy for the transport of soldiers to West Solaris. However, Génerále Kztárbor appears particularly keen on making the first move - A hard, swift and deadly surprise attack on Solaris - Attack during the night from their weakest points, and make sure they're well aware of what Toškhát military is capable of. With his fleet, he also has the capability to do so. I'm somewhat now at odds as to which path I should take.

I also recently received words from one of my scouts posted to an Erynnen trade ship that recently passed through Luxuria Urbs, Solaris - Reports of heavy rioting by Solaris civilians, chanting "Kill Holy Empire!"

Thankfully no harm has come to either of my scouts, but upon carefully reading his report, I've now come to realise that Solaris' planned invasion of Holy Empire isn't simply a play for power, isn't simply motivated by the generals of their administration and isn't simply about resources or land - They seek the destroy us entirely, and our destruction is likely their primary objective. This would also explain why we've received no communication from Solaris since making our discoveries and why no demands have been made - If this was a play for power, land or resources, undoubtedly, demands would be made beforehand, whereas, if this is an attempt at genocide, it makes sense to not communicate with us, for there is, in fact, no ultimatum here. When war comes, it is most likely that they will not be satisfied until every last of my kin is dead. With this in mind, I have no moral dilemma in conducting this war with an equally matched vigor - Though the Holy Empire is a nation built on it's military and we've many years of combat experience behind us, we've never before engaged in a conflict with the intention to entirely eradicate a race or people. However, we are a people that does not back down from a fight, and such intentions can be neither forgotten nor forgiven. This war may be the exception to our history - Solaris must be destroyed entirely.

Kent has sent me some samples of some of the first productions of our new forges, and I must say, I am extremely pleased and impressed by what I've seen - The new armour's weight does appear to have some negative implications for how fast one of our soldiers is able to move under its weight, but it does effectively stop literally all musket fire. To compromise, the armour may be reduced to allow more effective movement with those parts that aren't entirely necessary reduced, with protection for vital organs and the likes maintained as best as possible. He has also shown me some of our new explosives - Extremely effective is about all I can say about it at this stage. Stockpiling had already began prior to my seeing these samples, so we should be more than prepared for any threat that comes.

I've called Leraie back to the capital - I'll need him to take charge of our advanced frontal division when our war begins. Saitka remains in charge of home defense with no real changes to her contingent, but the weight of her duties has just increased significantly, and I've supplied increased support accordingly. I've sent Djárle, her partner, back to Hrvaskétljá, with their young - He'll remain in charge of defending our west coast, in case of a surprise attack from the west - At least, that's what I've told him. But by their young staying with him in Hrvaskétljá, it ensures that should anything happen to myself, Kent and Saitka, that our family line may continue. I do not yet have a partner of my own, and while the thought is pleasant, I've hardly the time for such thoughts.

Contingencies have been put in place for every conceivable point of attack, and I am satisfied that the entirely of our borders are well guarded. Now, we wait.
