Some Irksome News

So, here I am, your site founder... back from a relaxing trip to the Adirondacks for a little over a week. I was excited to come back to LS, getting a sound greeting from all my members and friends all over, hoping all was well back in our little corner of the internet. Instead, I come back to a complete mess, learning that our "paradise" was invaded by "trolls" and altogether a threesome of newbfags.

After finding this havoc, I let loose my heavenly hammer of ban upon their arses, sending them down to Davy Jones or Hell, whichever one you prefer.


Now, to get down to the seriousness of this matter:

LS was recently put under attack [if you will] by a couple of spammers, porno-posters, and asshats. It is believed that accounts have been hacked, one being Merc... so I warn all my members to be on the look out. If anything seems amiss, PLEASE PM ME.

Luckily, I handled the situation as best I could. Their accounts will be deleted, as they have been banned, and I'd rather not look at their usernames anymore upon my registered list.

But here's the thing: I handled this by myself, right after a seven hour trip home from vacation. I only logged on to see how everyone was doing, and I had the utmost confidence in my LS Staff. However, it seems like I was mistaken. Yes, some members DID in fact TRY to do something about this situation, however to no avail it seems.

I am not blaming anyone in particular, and truly part of this should be put upon my own previous administrative decision. Normal members, I know, could do nothing to quell the wildfire that burned the site. And, due to my own damn decision a while ago to keep banning abilities purely administrative... my one active mod was powerless against these people.

It shall suffice for me to say, I will be thinking over my staff selection here at LS.

I urge everyone here to just forget this incident, but do remain vigilant for forum offenders. Thank you, and I am sorry for any inconveniences while I was away.

Wow, I did not even know what have transpired until I read this. When did it happened?

It happened while I was gone on vacation, that is all I know. And I come back to find pictures of manshlong and "reverse goatsie" stuff, among text spamming and possible hacking... not pretty. Luckily, it has all been deleted, and the asshats have been taken care of.

I wasn't even angry about that stuff, as much as I was angry at the fact that it happened after a long drive home... Now however, I can safely say, that the site is secure. XD

Ugh.. It's always a pain the backside when these sort of things happen.. >.x

Atleast it has been resolved. And hopefully, will not happen again. And as has already been posted on RPG-F's shoutbox (but without the chance to post it here earlier due to time constraints), Legacy Society has my best wishes. ^.^
