Act I: Mercy For None Empty Act I: Mercy For None

Tue Jan 04, 2011 9:26 pm
"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And when you look long into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you."
~Friedrich Nietzsche

Transylvania, Romania...

The wicked never rest; they never sleep. They are on a quest to destroy human life as we know it, and only a lone organization stands in their way. The Dark Symphony, with its hunters from all over the world, cannot rest as well. They are on a mission to destroy these creatures of the night and rid the world of this evil. In a way, they are both one in the same, though some may disagree. Sometimes the lines of good and evil may not be clear when out on the battlefield, but each side is convinced they are right, and there is no way to change their minds. This war has been waging for years. However... on this night under the naked moon, something is happening. Something big. Some even believe it might end this war once and for all. Unbeknownst to the Dark Symphony, the largest battle of their entire war was getting ready to start. Would it be a fight...? Or a massacre?

A pale moon was held in place in the night sky, slightly blotted by dark clouds, taking some of the little light the this side of the earth had away. The landscape of Transylvania had a dark beauty. It's rolling hills and rocky clefts made this land uniquely stunning. However, blood was being spilled that night, of both fiends and humans.

On the outskirts of a small town in Transylvania, a large cathedral sat, seemingly unoccupied. However, it was used as a main base for the Dark Symphony, a place where hunters are given their contracts and research is made, as weapons development and scientific studies on these creatures they are facing increase their chances of winning the ever-waging war.

The cathedral was under attack, after its whereabouts were leaked in some way to the Dark Symphonies enemies. Legions of Vampires wielding long swords and dressed in ornate, dark armor marched side by side with packs of Werewolves and animated corpses. The doors of the Cathedral have been shut, but the alpha male of the Werewolf packs was slowly breaking through.

Not many were stationed at the Cathedral. Only a handful had been left behind, while the others were sent off to other stations or hunting grounds. Ian Gray was one of them. He was furious he hadn't been given a contract, but now it seemed the action would come to him. He had his weapons equipped and sat on one of the pews in the Cathedral, waiting for the doors to burst down.

The Cathedral was not the nicest place. It was a mess inside, crumbling from inside out. Weapons and notes were scattered all over the place, and a few machines providing power to the building were making noise behind them in the back rooms. Much of the Cathedral consisted of the single hall, lined with pews and a podium in the back. There were inside balconies hanging over the hall on each side, accessed by curving stairs below that went back down to the ground floor of the hall. Many people with longer ranged weapons were positioned up there, their guns sighted at the door. Once those creatures of the night came in, it would mostly be a one on one brawl, with people providing support from above.

Ian Gray checked all his weapons, making sure they were loaded. He propped up his revolver shotgun on one of the pews and made sure that his cavalry blade was out and ready. His pistol crossbow was latched onto his belt, ready for quick retrieval if he needed it. He was ready to fight these foul creatures to the death if he had to. In the midst of the warriors preparing their weapons, one of the largest brains of the Dark Symphony was walking about, his lab coat tails flailing behind him. He had light grey hair that had an appearance that suggested he had been recently shocked, and had his trademark goggles set on his head, pulled up over his hair, as he wasn't currently using them. The man had buggy eyes and a face that made him look like he was always thinking hardest. This was Professor Robert Bradley, one of the Dark Symphony's greatest. The old man walked over to Ian.

"I'm a little slow in registering how the situation is currently holding, so could you inform me of our odds of survival in this battle?" Bradley said to Ian, inadvertently seeking comforting words.

"Little to none," Ian said, grinning. "Just the way I like it."

"Sweet mother of science!" Bradley said, throwing up his arms in despair. "You hunters revel in this brutal combat. We might be killed!"

"We might," Ian said, shrugging. "But I'm hoping I can help change that."

"Very well, Mr. Gray, if you say so," Bradley said, shaking his head. "I'll have to put my trust in you and your league of bloodthirsty fighters. As usual, I'll be stepping back into the other rooms before anything terrible happens."

Suddenly the giant claw of the alpha male Werewolf slashed through the huge double doors of the Cathedral. It was finally making it's way through the tough barriers. Ian stood up, picking up his revolver shotgun and cocking it.

"Then you might want to move fast, Bradley," Ian said to him. The Proffessor nodded nervously and ran off into the back rooms, hoping that his dear hunters would prove to be as tough as they talk. Ian took a look at all the people positioned around the room. There wasn't a commanding figure about, so he figured he take charge for now if no one else was willing to.

"Keep your weapons on them as they break in, and fire with no mercy," Ian said loudly to everyone in the room, the sound of the Werewolf clawing through the door becoming more intense. "They won't give you any, so you'll be giving none to them. I don't want to see anyone drop their weapons and run. There's nowhere to go, anyways."

The Werewolf was breaking through the door rather quickly, its glowing, red eyes visible through the splinters. It let out a deep roar, and Ian proceeded to aim his gun at the cracks.

"Remember," he said in a lower voice. "Aim for the head. One way to kill a vampire, and a quicker way to kill a werewolf."

The Werewolf's hand thrust through a gaping hole in the door, continuing to break through it. The creature was a giant compared to the average eight foot tall werewolfs, standing at roughly ten feet, though it was hunched over. It was much stronger than the others, but it could still be killed all the same. Ian spit on the ground, something he usually did before a fight.

"Good luck, hunters," he said, lining up a shot with the Werewolf's head as it started to break through. "And may God have mercy on our souls."

The giant Werewolf burst through the double doors, splinters shattering everywhere. In an onrush, Werewolves, Vampires, and the undead tumbled through the entryway. Shots ran out from all around in the Cathedral, felling the first line rather quickly, though the alpha male Werewolf was preparing a charge. Ian shot in rapid succession, bursting two undead creatures apart in a bloody blast. He shot at a Vampire that was running at him with its longsword in the sword-arm before it could strike, and finished it off with a burst straight at the head. The alpha male let out a roar once more and charged towards a group standing in the front pews, tearing a few men apart limb by limb. Bullets smacked into its body, but it would take more effort to get it to fall. Ian let out a breath of slight fear, something uncommon to him. He emptied the used shells of his shotgun quickly and replaced them with new ones, prepared to unload into more creatures of the night.

The battle for the Cathedral had just begun.

OOC: All of us are already in the Dark Symphony, if you haven't read the quick announcement I edited in on the OOC topic. As a result, we all probably know each other and may have worked together in the past. We are all present at this battle, so have fun! Try to survive!

Act I: Mercy For None Empty Re: Act I: Mercy For None

Tue Jan 04, 2011 10:21 pm
Vlad watched from one of the pews, the doors of the cathedral being slowly cracked and splintered. It was only a matter of time before they burst.. and the darkness of the world flooded inward to them, in a horrifying display of malevolence. He sat in a mahogany wood pew among his fellow hunters. They were all veterans of this depraved war, all friends and could trust each other with their lives. He looked the most calm of his comrades, and in fact he usually was so. He hadn't even drawn a weapon yet or prepared for battle.

"Ian, we don't know the numbers of the enemy? This situation seems vaguely familiar." Vlad said with a voice of sarcasm in his heavy Russian accent, accompanied with a smirk.

At that, Vladamir Iranov stood from the pew and drew his bandanna around his mouth and beneath his eyes as he always had before battle. Drawing back the flaps of his black-leather duster, he revealed two holsters with silver Makarovs strapped in. Uncapping the clasp holding both in, he readied his hands at the grips of his pistols. On his back, was strapped a silver bladed Kukri, as well as a SKS Carbine "Lancer" as he called it, due to the rather disturbing addition of a chainsaw at the underside of the barrel. Strapped to his side, was a PPSh-41... a trusty addition to his person arsenal.

Just as he was about to grab for his pistols, the doors burst open, prompting Vlad to draw and fire as soon as this happened. For s few seconds, his hearing left him, leaving nothing in its wake aside from ringing. He could see his pistols move slightly with each time he squeezed the trigger from the recoil. The flash from the muzzle blazed in his eyes, joining in with every other hunter's weapon. He found two animated corpses fall, heads blown inward from his Makarovs.

Hearing came back to him in the form of loud blasts and shouts; screams of pain from enemies who still had a shred of soul, and the long groan of the zombified. He hated to admit it, but after years of fighting with these guys, he expected nothing different.... he wanted nothing different. They were his brothers and sisters in arms, the Dark Symphony was all he had left, as well as his revenge against Count Dracula, the one who killed his family and razed St. Petersburg years ago.

A sudden groan came from behind, Vlad spun in place, aiming his Makarovs forward blasting two rounds into the gaping open, and drooling maw of another half-skinned corpse. It was so close, the end of his barrel lay within the mouth of his victim. Holstering one Makarov, he unsheathed his Kukri to deal with those that got close. Looking to his comrades, he wanted to make sure they all fared well.

Dante standing near by his allies. He hears the doors being shredded by a monster. He stands like he has nothing to lose while his eyes shine with no regrets. Pulling out his Tommy Gun aka his Chicago Typewriter. Saying in English "Its time to send them a message". His gun shines from the moonlight that escaped inside the cathedral as if God is sending a message to him and his brothers/sisters of the Dark Symphony.

No fear and no mercy creeps around Dante's body while the air felt heavier. Dante bows his head. Says in Italian "Let my enemies bleed onto these holy grounds, lend me your power Saint Rosalia, let the evil die painfully so Sicily will be protected. Give me strength Saint Rosalia. Give me luck Saint Rosalia. Let Sicily flourish Saint Rosalia".

When his prayer ends the doors of the cathedral burst open. Dante lifts his head. Saying in English "No mercy". He pulls the trigger of his beloved Tommy Gun letting the gun scream out his message to the enemies. Several lycans scatter from the incoming rounds around them but it does no good. Several drop to the floor while some struggle to get closer. *Click* *click* *click. Dante throws his Tommy Gun aside and pulls out his two colts. He walks closer to the enemies while firing his two pistols. One lycan seemed to be bigger than the rest rushes towards Dante. He notices and aims his pistols to the beast. Each round hit the lycan and the last round in both of his pistols hit the beasts eye forcing it to die without touching Dante.

Seeing the undead coming through and Vlad pulling out his Kukri. Dante slings out his dual sawback knives standing ready to spill more blood.

Act I: Mercy For None Empty Re: Act I: Mercy For None

Alexander sat quietly near the back with his rifle leaning against him, he held his silver crucifix and looked out at the crumbling door. He had no fear, he knew his comrades and they were the best fighters he had everseen. He had placed him self in a perfect spot and was apple to clearly see the entire hallway to provide cover. The door has almost caved in and he knew it was time. He put away his crucifix and loaded his rifle. This fight would be no different for him, odds were often against the Dark Symphony. And that never stoped them from killing as many of these fiends as posible. The door was destroyed and monsters poured into the hall. Alexander took a deep breath and fired his rifle into the crowd. Out of instinct he aimed for the werewolfs first, but switched his targets to those closest his friends down below. Shot after shot he tore his enemy down leaving waves of blood to be sprayed into the air. He couldent help but give a small smile as he pulled the trigger.

Act I: Mercy For None Empty Re: Act I: Mercy For None

Wed Jan 05, 2011 7:11 pm
Gabriel Van Helsing stood facing the altar in the Cathedral and grasped the wooden cross that hung from his neck.

''Ár nAthair, atá ar neamh, a hallowed Thy ainm. Thy ríocht teacht. Go ndéantar do thoil, ar an talamh mar a dhéantar ar neamh. Tabhair dúinn inniu ár n-arán laethúil;'' He chanted loudly. ''agus maith dúinn ár bhfiacha, mar a mhaithimidne dár bhféichiúna féin; agus gan luaidhe sinn i gcathú, ach saor sinn ó olc.''

He finished moments after the Werewolf burst in, and in one single motion he spun around and dropped to his knee, pulling out he repeating crossbow as he did. He looked to make sure Onora was safe behind cover before he opened fire, then turning his gaze back to oncoming monsters he pulled the trigger. As bolt after bolt flew from his weapon he shouted out. ''In ainm Dé, créatúir bás!''

***

Onora did her best to stay out of sight in the balcony she was on, she knew that if she got herself hurt then her brother would not be happy to say the least, since her protection was his main concern. She made sure that her weapons were ready just in case she might actually need them, but as she drew her dagger her hand was shaking with fear. This was the first time she might actually need to use it and she didn't know if she was going to be able to bring herself to doing what must be done. She looked at the Hunter on balcony next to her, his name was Alexander if she remembered correctly from the introductions.

''An raibh tú riamh ar bun i gcoinne an leor roimh?'' She said in Irish, then realizing her mistake she asked again in English. ''Have you ever been up against this many before?''

Alexander amongst the sounds of battle below saw Onora facing him while reloading. "JA, I believe so" he responded in a thick German accent, he stoped to click in the new mag and shoot off a few rounds before returing his attention to her. He noticed she was afraid "You have no need to worry, you are with the best" Alexander said grinning "besides aslong as we stay up here they couldent surprise us" he knew that was the worst. Hunting before ever meeting the Dark Symphony and with no one to wath your back he would be caught by surprise by the more clever of the beasts. He smiled and noded before quickly snapping into a firing postion and letting off another few rounds fly through the victims below.

Act I: Mercy For None Empty Re: Act I: Mercy For None

Wed Jan 05, 2011 11:18 pm
Dante stands still catching his breath. Gripping his two knives hard enough his two hands start to bleed. There is a deep gash to his right arm and another to his chest. He looks around him seeing fourteen dead bodies cut to shreds as if they where attacked by wild dogs. Saying To Himself "Damn those freaks. I am going to find to make them all suffer for this stunt they pulled". One corpse walks towards Dante as fast as it can. Saying In English "I am sick of these games". He clinches his left hand and throws a upper cut to the corpse. It felled back while its jaw started to break apart from its head. Dante bends over and jabs one of his knives into the mouth aiming to the corpses brain.

Dante stands up and right in front of him there is a suit of armor carrying a claymore. His suit was severely dented but not heavily damaged. Dante looks towards the mans face and sees his eyes crying for blood.

Dante "You must be a leach wanting to die"

Vampire "No I am just here to exterminate little pests of my League"

Dante "The league of leaches, sure what ever this means more killing for me"

Vampire "I lived longer than you and fought worst people, you don't come close to them"

Dante pulls out his ice pick and aims the point to the vampire

Dante "I only need this to kill you"

The vampire swings his sword wildly at Dante. Ever time the sword comes by Dante leans out of the way. No matter how many times the vampire swings his sword it does not touch Dante.

Dante laughs

Vampire "Whats so funny"

Dante wipes his eye and chuckles a little bit. Dante "If you say your good prove it but if you cant touch me then go back to your little league of losers and wait for us to kill you"

During Dante's speech the vampire swings his sword as fast as he can aiming for the head. Dante ducks and throws is ice pick towards the vampires face hitting inside his mouth. The vampire struggles to remove it bust only feels extreme pain.

Dante "Rule on big swords don't mean shit if you are well trained to fight"

He walks over closely to the vampire

Dante "Rule two if someone brings a ice pick to a fight its because that weapon is special"

He punches the ice pick making it releasing the silver chromate.

Dante " Rule three enjoy hell you leach"

The vampire screams horrifically. His entire body starts to glow inside the suit. The suit drops to the floor only having dust inside.

Act I: Mercy For None Empty Re: Act I: Mercy For None

Thu Jan 06, 2011 12:20 am
Gabriel ducked behind a pew as he replaced the empty case of his crossbow, then he let it hang at his side as he drew his sword. With a leap he landed behind Dante and slew two zombies that were about to maul the Italian, then he turned his back to him and prepared for more.

''Amadán aird Pá, shábháil mé díreach tar éis do shaol.'' Gabriel said.

''What?'' Dante asked bewildered

''I said 'Be more careful next time, next time I won't be there to save you.' Do you not speak Irish?'' Gabriel shouted as ducked a blow from a Lycan.

He sighed as he parried another attack, then he sidestepped and let the creature land a blow on Dante from behind. With a quick move he impaled the werewolf in the head and let it fall the ground.

***

Onora was calmed slightly by Alexander's words and managed a slight smile, but that didn't change the fact that she was to scared to be of any help. She moved into a more comfortable position and readied her dagger in case someone tried to sneak up behind them.

''Are you German? You sound like you are from your accent.'' She asked. ''My brother and I are part German but we've never been there.''

She hoped that she wasn't being to distracting, she was just trying to think about something other then the battle. She had been told many times before that she talks to much, but she never really cared what the others said. Talking was her way of staying calm and right now it seemed to be working.

Dante's back started to bleed very heavily. Blood drips down on to the old floor. Dante "Damn fur ball".
He looks towards to Gabriel with a smirk on his face. Dante "I only know two terms that are Irish, erin go bragh and foc il leat" said to Gabriel.

He bends down and picks up his two colts that are covered in blood and says to Gabriel "Got any ciggs on you".

While talking a corpse jumps towards Dante and with out a flinch he kicks it in the head forcing it to fly while the body descends to the floor.

He puts in new clips into his pistols and fires them into anything near 10 feet.

Act I: Mercy For None Empty Re: Act I: Mercy For None

Thu Jan 06, 2011 12:54 am
Fiends were falling everywhere to their superior firepower, pools of their blood staining the ground and the faces of those who destroyed them. Ian shoved his shotgun into the chest of a walking corpse trying to attack him and blasted him into pieces with the pull of a trigger. Cold blood splattered on his shirt and Ian reloaded another few shots, aiming at a couple Vampires that were advancing towards him. His comrade, Vlad, was nearby, and Ian couldn't help but let out a small grin to his remark.

"It always will be," Ian replied, shooting the head of a Vampire clean off and kicked the other one away before it could swing at him with its sword. "

Dante and the Irish hunter were both together, fighting off fiends of many different kinds. He could tell the Irishman probably didn't Dante's attitude, but they seemed to fight well together. In the worst situations, even the worst of enemies could get along and live on. Shot came from above on the balconies, some of them from Alexander, a man that Ian slightly knew. He was a good shot and proved to be a good ally so far.

Ian unloaded his last shots of the shotgun into another Werewolf, and tossed it down onto a pew, unsheathing his cavalry blade. It was a thick sword, made of silver and sharpened to a deadly blade. It could easily slice into enemies, even if they had armor. Ian raised it up as a Vampire approached him, blocking a giant sword swing with his sword and cutting off the sword arm of the beast with a quick spin, finishing the fiend off with a decapitating swing.

As the fierce melee went on below the balconies, shattering glass was heard, falling from above. A small pack of six Werewolves had climbed up the Cathedral and destroyed the window pains above, jumping in onto the top balconies to wreak havoc. Three of them approached the area where Alexander and Onora were situated, letting out growls as they approached their prey. The other three went onto the other side of the balcony, killing hunters brutally, ripping them to shreds with their claws. Ian turned to see the carnage, his sword bloodied by the monsters.

"Get those beasts on the balcony!" he yelled out to anyone that was not engaged. "Go up the stairs and slay them!"

Ian was surrounded by two Vampires, so he could not spare any time to run. He quickly blocked blows, drops of blood hitting the ground from the wounds on his arms he recieved from barely dodging the blows. He knocked the sword away from one of them with a lucky swing, stabbing the beast straight through the face, ripping it out quickly. He turned to the other Vampire, the blood of his brother dripping off his blade. Many hunters up on the balconies were being killed at the same time, and Alexander and the Irishman's sister were in danger as well. Someone would have to help quickly, or they would be destroyed. Ian grimaced and raised his sword to attack the Vampire before him.

Act I: Mercy For None Empty Re: Act I: Mercy For None

The Werewolves, Vlad could see, were atop the balconies. He saw some hunters, lesser known by him, get shredded to pieces by the monsters. Looking over to Ian, he put a thumbs up and headed off toward the enemy. He had cut down all of the corpses that were in his general area. His Kukri was stained blood-red at the moment. Holstering his Makarov, he wiped clean his Kukri as he ascended the steps to the second floor. Sheathing that, he unstrapped his SKS from his back. Grasping a pull-string by the chainsaw, he ripped and heard the engine start to rumble to a start. It would soon fill the entire Cathedral with the noise of sickening bodies being cut down.

Kicking open the door to the balcony, he let loose five rounds into two Werewolves, who fell quickly with gaping holes in their skulls. The next few stopped their slaughter of the Hunters atop and stared at Vlad. Holding a small customized trigger beneath the barrel and attached to the chainsaw, he revved it, gaining mostly everyone's attention for a moment. His face, beneath his black bandanna, was twisted into something of a cold grin. Bringing his "Lancer", as he named it, up he yelled and charged into the first Werewolf. It tried to slash, only getting its arm torn off. It stood in shock for a moment, not a sound being uttered.

"Good... stand just like that." Vlad said in Russian with a mocking tone.

Thrusting the long chainsaw's blade into the Werewolf, he tried to ignore the splatter of dark blood and gore that exploded toward him. A long howl and screech echoed in the Cathedral. Revving the chainsaw even louder, he swung it upward and through the beasts shoulder-blade, leaving nothing but a long, gaping gash through its body. Vlad grunted and brought the rifle to his shoulder, aimed down the sights, and squeezed the trigger once more. The two last Werewolves above were shot down as they lunged at him.

Looking over through the windows, he could see many more enemies pouring up the hill toward the Cathedral. Looking down to the vicious melee that ensued below, he called out clearly in his deep Russian accent.

"Ivan, we need some fire from up here. Someone help out!"

The entire cathedral echoed in horror. Dante look up to the balcony seeing Vlad shredding the werewolves. No matter how many beasts collapse to the floor more come in from the broken roof. He looks around and sees his Chicago Typewriter near the steps sitting next to a bag labeled " Touch it and I'll murder you ". Dante saying to himself "So that's where I put my guns ammo bag". He runs to the steps and swipes a new drum mag for his Chicago Typewriter (Custom Tommygun).

He finally reaches near Ivan and says "Get some good shots ill cover". He pulls up his gun and fires away. One by one fall to the ground leaving bodies of monsters hitting the floor while a pool of blood start to flow to the edge falling to the first floor. Dante's gun start to glow red and the wounds on Dante's hand start to sizzle during the wounds shut.

Vlad had continued to semi-automatically fire his SKS down from the second-story windows of the Cathedral to those enemies below. Even with such firepower as they all possessed, the undead continued to pour up the hill. With each shot Vlad took, he could feel the butt of the rifle hitting against the crook of his shoulder. He could see the bolt move back at the side of the gun with each loaded bullet to the cartridge. The scent of gunpowder was nearly palpable, as well as the odor of gas coming from his still revving chainsaw.

Vlad took a second to look sidelong at Ivan and Dante who now stood with him atop the balcony. He saw that whatever wounds Dante had taken on his hands from before, had opened up again. Ivan stood by the windows and shot down mercilessly at the encroaching darkness spawned from the depths of hell itself.

"Dante! You hand... look at your hand. Wrap that up with something, blood attracts more of these bastards! I'll back you up." Vlad cried over the din of battle.

Act I: Mercy For None Empty Re: Act I: Mercy For None

Thu Jan 06, 2011 1:39 pm
Having long since became one of the Dark Symphony's most renowned long-range marksmen, armed with the 1891/30 model Mosin-Nagant rifle that, numerous times over a period of years, he'd commissioned Bradley to upgrade, modify and improve (along with several other weapons) in various ways to the point that this rifle no longer resembled its original model -- Barrel, scope and firing rate drastically improved through use of Dark Symphony secret ballistics research, Ivan had remained strategically positioned on the top balcony of the building since before the first of he and his comrade's enemies had taken a single step onto Cathedral grounds, sniping targets from afar as they'd approached. Mostly perfect head-shots throughout -- He'd lost count of how many. However, there was, simply, too many to prevent their breaking through.

As per his diligent nature, he'd silently performed his duty until that point, but the ever closing proximity between him and his enemies compelled him to reassess his position. Dante's and Vlad's joining alongside had undoubtedly granted him an additional dozen or so shots, but alas, enemies continued to close in.

The three stood in a triangular formation, covering one another's backs -- Dante, Vlad & Ivan, working closely together as they'd done so an uncountable number of time before, the three, an effective and deadly combination.

Ivan suddenly heard a loud snarl from directly above. Without thinking, he immediately directed his sights upwards and fired without hesitation -- A smaller werewolf that had penetrated the trio's otherwise impenetrable field of detection by slowly progressing across the ceiling and attempting to drop onto the trio from above, lay dead in a pool of blood by Ivan's feet. Without a word -- For they had little time for such things in the given situation -- Ivan returned to covering his point of their positions, now more focused on keeping the enemies away from -them- rather than away from the -cathedral-. Before having a chance to think about what had happened, he'd taken out another two vampires with quick and decisive headshots from his rifle.

Ivan scoffed in disgust as he noticed, from the corner of his vision, the alpha werewolf, apparently leading the packs, tearing apart one of the younger hunters of the group with absolute ease -- One swift motion of grabbing the hunter and pulling claws apart in opposite direction to literally tear the hunter entirely in half, a chilling and blood curdling scream accompanying. Continuing his fire, he spoke to Vlad, standing beside him. "Hrmf.. Things are starting to get a little hot in here, comrade! If these wretched things get much closer, we may be in some serious trouble."

In Russian, he continued. "I tell you, though; If I changed.. I'm confident I could take that upstart feral runt down there myself. He doesn't look much bigger or stronger than the White Wolf, and it'd catch him by surprise. If we need to all make a hasty escape, or if these guys get too much closer.. I might just do that. No doubt, not everyone here will make it, but I can clear a path, and if you and others follow closely behind, we can get out without being overrun. If I change, I might need your help with my gauntlets and help with grabbing anything I drop.. Hopefully I won't need to, but, good to be ready in case I do.."

On Ivan's back dangled a pair of carbon-steel claw gauntlets tipped with sharpened compounded silver -- A unique specialty weapon that he'd built himself, having had Bradley call in the necessary parts and equipment to build them. Undoubtedly, no one other than those that knew his secret would've ever seen him use them, but he always carried them with him, along with the rest of his arsenal. Ofcourse, Werewolf claws and fangs were already lethal enough as they were, and the White Wolf of Kamchatka was by far, no ordinary Werewolf -- But nevertheless, Ivan saw no reason to not do what he could to augment this lethality further. Besides.. Breaking a claw still hurt.

A slightly older vampire suddenly took flight and lunged full-speed at Dante. Taking aim, Ivan took three quick pot-shots at the aerial vermin -- One shot missed, flying passed harmlessly into a wall; The second, grazed the vampire's face; The third, hit directly between the eyes. Self-combusting in mid-flight, within a second or two, the trio found themselves covered in its dusty remains, it's armour and weapon bouncing off the balcony balustrade and falling back to the first floor.

Act I: Mercy For None Empty Re: Act I: Mercy For None

Alexander stopping to quickly clear a jammed case in his gun responded to Onora "Ja, you will have to visit one day, it is the most beautiful near my village" He finished remembering his times back before the attack. He checked his ammo and was preparing when he heard a crackling noise. He looked up as shatterd glass and wherewolves flying down came as reapers from the ceiling. "Nein" Alexander grunted as he fell back when one of the beasts landed on the balcony. He raised his gun and fired the rest of his clip into the moster before jumoing up and shoving it over the edge to its death. "Watch out"! he yelled to Onora before unholstering his luger and firing shots into the second wounding it. he flung his rifle over his shoulder and pulled out his silver knife. He climbed over to the other balcony to finish off the animal, as he got close the wherewolf flew at his with force and knocked him to the ground. He stabed it in its arm and was able to make some space between them. He quickly looked for Onora to see her condition, he knew the thrid was somwhere. The second beast must be taken care of first he thought. He waited for it to swing and him then he himself lunged and dug his knife deep into its cest. It gave out a painfull howl as Alexander was sprayed with its blood.

Ivan looked over to Alexander's position briefly as he heard a massive smashing of a glass section of ceiling shatter directly above he and Onora -- The third of three to fall to his position had snuck behind Onora and had its claw raised, preparing for a swing at Onora's neck -- Ivan had seen this happen enough times before to know exactly what the creature had planned -- And Onora had no idea that is lay behind her, Alexander distracted by the second creature, preventing him from intervening. Aiming his rifle, Ivan fired two successive shots -- One in the throat and back of the head of the third, killing it instantly. The creature fell forward, directly to Onora's feet. Seeing Alexander covered in a spray of blood from the second and a pool of blood forming from the third, Ivan called out. "Watch the eyes and mouth! Don't accidentally consume any blood!"

Vlad looked to Ivan with a sly look upon his face (though his smirk couldn't be seen). As he shot down another vampire that lay in his sights, he commented to Ivan's last statement.

"Don't think you're the only one who knows how to kill these pieces of fodder..." Vlad said in a joking but challenging voice.

Vlad took out his silver crucifix from his satchel and held it before him. Looking back to Ivan he laughed for a second.

"Don't forget who was the one who drove off that Dracula-bastard back in St. Petersburg. Let's make this a competition..."

With that, he finally figured out a way to increase the slowly sinking morale of the hunters still able to fight. Moving out from the group of three there on the balcony, going to the railing he put a boot to the top and yelled down to all hunters.

"I'm starting a competition! Whoever can stay alive, unscratched, and can kill that damn alpha male first gets two servings for dinner!"

Act I: Mercy For None Empty Re: Act I: Mercy For None

Dante puts in another clip o his Chicago Typewriter (Tommy Gun). Saying To Himself "Damn one mag left." He aims towards to a pack of Werewolves, they all looked like ordinary freaks except one. It was behind the other it was much bigger and the fur color was white like snow. Dante "Looks like I found a Alpha Freak". He smiles like a crazed man and just stares down his sights waiting for the beasts to come closer.

He pulls the trigger and a Hail Mary of bullets scatter towards the group. The bullets just cut through the werewolves like knife to butter but the white beast stands strong while his friends hit the floor. Dante stops firing seeing that the white freak is only left near him. He hands his gun to Ivan and says "Hold this for a second". He walks closely to the Alpha Werewolf while removing his two knives out of his back pockets. The mad beast howl ever so loudly and charges towards Dante. He points one knife to the rampaging Alpha Werewolf's head and another behind Dante's back. The abomination swings his right hand towards Dante's ribs but it fails. Dante quickly moves away from the claws paths and runs towards the the beast's side. He jabs one knife into the werewolf's ear and the other blade comes around slitting the werewolf's neck. While the werewolf starts to hit the ground he sees a lot more creatures outside through the window.

Yelling out loud " Looks like they sent a army just to get us "

OOC - Nothing wrong with your post, but just thought I'd mention, in case there's any confusion - The "White Wolf of Kamchatka" refers to me. Razz

Ivan, seeing momentary reprieve, moved to stand alongside Vlad as he spoke over the rails. "A competition, ay? Sounds like a plan, comrade!"

Dante, ofcourse, had rushed to face off against another alpha male that he'd found.

Vlad's words hadn't, however, gone unnoticed by the first alpha male. Turning to face the duo by the rails with a hateful, vengeful glare, accompanied by an equally horrendous snarl, the alpha, stepping over the shredded remains of yet another hunter, charged the walls, leaping up diagonally towards the pair, claws outstretched. Ivan reacted instinctively, firing a succession of shots repetitively towards their target. Though the Cathedral remained flooded, most of the other werewolves and vampires hastily backed away from Ivan, Vlad and Dante, not daring to step in the way of the alpha leading the packs.

More than several shots missed completely, puncturing small luminescent holes into the wall behind the creature as it dodged and swerved at an alarming speed -- Missing more than once, was an utmost extremely rare occasion where Ivan's marksmanship was concerned, but alas, this was no ordinary occasion. As it lunged forward, three shots made direct contact -- One in the stomach and two in the chest -- But appeared to have no obvious effects whatsoever, despite being heavy grade hyper-self-luminous silver bullets (yet another commission of Ivan's, one which almost always left his supernatural-leaning targets instantly dead in one shot, and one of which he was running low on stock). Ivan said one word, quickly, in Russian, to Vlad, before quickly jumping back to create some manner of distance between himself and that space previously occupied to which the alpha intended to land. "Dodge!"

OOC: Also, I hope my previous post doesn't cause any complications. My post got Ninja'd, and I didn't want to have to rewrite the entire thing, so I just wrote it that Dante had found a second alpha rather than having him fight off the first (as I'd been writing in my post). Anyhow. I do not see any issues with the RP as of yet, but if I may ask -- Guys, let's be wary of Godmodding. Awesome-fest is nice, but if overdone, starts to look a bit silly. ^.^
